It's me again God,
Your very essence is so pure, so perfect, undefiled, unblemished, faultless and complete! I praise You that in this dark world, You are the one, true bright light:
"This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us."
1 John 1:5-10 NIV
Lord it is clear that my life changed when I came to know You. My preferences immediately became different as my relationship with You developed. Thank You for sending Jesus to die for me! Thank You that His blood continually purifies me from all sin, making me righteous! Thank You that when I come to You, confessing my sin, I have the assurance that You have already forgiven me in Jesus!
"God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." 2 Corinthians 5:21 NIV
Walking involves moving forward and that is just what I am doing in my life with You —I am walking in the light, Your light! I am not alone, I am walking with You and with my fellow believers, enjoying the fellowship that comes from a life lived in the light. Choosing to live in sinful ways is just not compatible with this life in the light and yet I know that in this fallen world, I will sin:
"My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world."
1 John 2:1-2 NIV
Lord I thank You that this walking in the light is not a one off event but because of Jesus, it is a daily experience. I don't need to be discouraged or afraid when I sin but know that Jesus, You are my ultimate Advocate! You are perfect but took the sins of the whole world on Yourself at the Cross, so when the Father looks at me, the penalty for my sin is paid in full —I am free from condemnation!
"Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit."
Romans 8:1-4 NIV
Thank You for giving us your Holy Spirit who lives in us and guides us in the way we should walk. Lead me and guide me today Lord —for Your glory!
