It's me again God,

I look to You today for peace and strength for whatever lies ahead. Thank You for the way you reveal Your incredible power in nature. I join with David in declaring who You are:

"Honor the Lord, you heavenly beings; honor the Lord for his glory and strength. Honor the Lord for the glory of his name. Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness. The voice of the Lord echoes above the sea. The God of glory thunders. The Lord thunders over the mighty sea. The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is majestic. The voice of the Lord splits the mighty cedars; the Lord shatters the cedars of Lebanon. He makes Lebanon's mountains skip like a calf; he makes Mount Hermon leap like a young wild ox. The voice of the Lord strikes with bolts of lightning. The voice of the Lord makes the barren wilderness quake; the Lord shakes the wilderness of Kadesh. The voice of the Lord twists mighty oaks and strips the forests bare. In his Temple everyone shouts, "Glory!" The Lord rules over the floodwaters. The Lord reigns as king forever. The Lord gives his people strength. The Lord blesses them with peace."
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭29:1-11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I love the image of Your voice being so powerful that it splits the mighty cedars of Lebanon. They are trees that are so strong and enormous in height and girth and yet You are more powerful! You have shown us Your majesty and glory and it's amazing that often we only notice Your presence in the hurricanes of life. You are more powerful than the storms we witness in nature and also the storms we experience in our lives through various unexpected events.

No matter what the prevailing conditions are like in our lives or the country where we live —whether flood, fire, earthquake, hurricane or drought, we can feel safe knowing that You are taking care of us and that You are in control. Thank You that we can trust You as the One who is enthroned as our King forever and because of our faith in Jesus, You bless us with Your wonderful, lasting peace.

In His Name we pray,
Amen.
