Chapter 2 - Different in a Good Way

6 years later...

"Alexa!" Emily called while I hid under the table.

I giggled when I saw her feet slowly walking towards me.

"I know you're hiding in here." She said while walking towards me, making me giggle some more.

I slowly crawled to the other end. I waited for the chance to escape but Emily caught me and threw me on her shoulders.

"Gotcha!" she said and tickled me.

"Stop... it!" I said between my laughter.

She laughed and then put me down.

"We got to get you ready for tonight Alexa, you know what Philip said." She scolded me.

I sighed.

"He said that I should look presentable and make sure that nobody notices me." I said and she nodded.

"But why do I have to look presentable if I shouldn't let anyone notice me?" I pouted but she laughed and picked me up.

"Because if someone notices you, at least you will look presentable. But we still don't want much people to notice you, understand?" she said in her soft loving voice.

I tilted my head and looked at her confusedly.

"Are you sure that you're not my mommy, Emily?" I asked which made her laugh.

"Oh, I wish that I am." She said and kissed the top of my head.

"You are such a sweet little girl, everyone loves you." I frown and played with my skirt.

"But why doesn't Philip likes me?" I said nearly crying.

"Oh dear, he likes you Alexa, he just doesn't want to show it." I pouted.

"But why?" She sighed and picked me up.

"Because he's afraid of loving someone."

Emily's POV

"But everyone loves him." Little Alexa said while she plays with my hair.

I smiled and looked at her.

"They do? I thought that they all feared him." I said with a laugh but it only confused Alexa.

"Why would they fear him?" Oh no, how do I get out of this one.

I cleared my throat and tried hard to smile.

"Because... uh... Philip is a little bossy and sometimes a little... uh... strict! That's right!" I said which convinced Alexa.

"Nobody likes to be scolded, right?" I asked and she nodded energetically.

"I promise that I'll be a good girl Emily! So that one day Philip will like me!" She giggled.

Alexa is a sweet girl. I feel bad for her. Philip isn't even paying much attention to her, for four years he kept his word that he will only use her as a weapon. I want to take her back to her parents but it will mean that I have betrayed my friend, I don't want him to hate me but I don't want anything to happen to Alexa, why did I ever agree to his plans?

"Emily??" Alexa asked worriedly.

I snapped back to reality and gave her a warm smile. 

"What color do you want to wear tonight? Blue or pink?" I would guess that she would pick blue since that blue is her favorite color.

Most girls would pick pink but she's different, but in a good way.

"Blue!" She said.

I laughed and lifted her up in the air making her laugh.

"Blue it is then!" I said.

"Let's get dressed!" I cheered and so she put her fist in the air and shouted.

"To my room!"

Alrighty!
