Shawn's POV

"I'm sorry..." Astrid sobbed as she kept her face cupped in her hands. "I shouldn't have come here..." She breathed which made me shake my head and press my fingers on the side of my head.

"It isn't your fault. We didn't know that Philip casted a spell before we left. I should've known that he wouldn't let us go that easily without a reason." I said and punched a wall in front of me, making a hole that I instantly regretted since that I remembered that we were someplace else and regretted since that I promised myself and my sister that I wouldn't do this again. But I didn't want to punch the lights out of Alexa's brother. He would fight back but nonetheless, I didn't want to hurt her family even more. I already apologized for being an asshole but I haven't apologized for what we have done.

I was lost in thought until I felt someone grab my hand. I instantly turned my head and saw that Angelica was holding my hand.

"W-W-What are you doing?!" I exclaimed as I felt my face heating up.

She stared into my eyes and tilted her head, indicating how clueless she was but ended up giggling. "Don't get your hopes up boy." She stated.

She held up my hand, just enough for her to closely look at it which I saw that it was bleeding.  Her hand started to glow along with mine as our hands were engulfed by the orb of light that she formed. My eyes widened as the light slowly faded. I pulled out my hand and saw no injury, the blood was gone too. She smiled and made her way towards Astrid again, like it was normal for someone to just do that like it was a normal routine.

Crossing my eyebrows, I let out a breath, still trying to figure out what just happened.

"I healed you, that's it. You don't have to spend the whole day just to figure it out." She bluntly said.

"What are you?" I asked.

She rolled her eyes before giggling. "I'm an angel."

That is one hell of an angel. Are angels supposed to behave that way?

She cleared her throat and smiled. "There are three types of angels, those who guards, guides and sends. What's the difference? The ones who guards are the Guardian Angels, they guard people especially children. Those who Guides, guides the souls of those who died to heaven or hell. Those who sends are angels that hunt and kill their target therefore sending it straight to hell." She said which made me raise an eyebrow up.

"Your point?" I said. I don't really see the purpose of this lecture.

She took in a deep breath and sighed. "Do you want to know what happened to Celina or not?"

My eyes widened. What's this got to do with her? I may not know much about her kind so correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't she a vampire and not an Angel?

I sighed and defeat, nodding to let her know that I might as well listen to her.

She smiled and nodded, clearing her throat one last time before continuing. "Those are the types of Angels, whatever the type may be, they do it for good. But what people don't know is that there are two races of angels."

A trip through history, how grand.

"The first race of Angels that have ever lived on this world are what we now know as Angels of Deaths. They were the first that the Moon Goddess has created for that they were supposed to guide the souls of the dead to their rightful place but they became death themselves, killing other species so that they could rule the world. The Moon Goddess created other beings which stopped them. Only one survived but she was killed a few years ago by someone." She said and smiled.

I raised an eyebrow and let out a breath. "Get on with it." I said which made her clear her throat and continue.

"After that incident, a few years later, someone was born, a Death Angel who no one ever thought would be possible for someone to just be born into it. That Angel was brought into a palace where she could train with the prince in order to avoid the poor treatment that she had back home but some things just couldn't be avoided. That prince treated her badly, since that she didn't trust anyone to talk to, she bottled up her emotions, thus creating a nightmare inside her."

My eyes widen as the story is becoming something that's familiar. She got my full attention.

She smiled when she saw that I was now eager to learn more about it, and so she continued. "Only the Vampire Goddess could extract the creature from within her but the Goddess will lose her title and her powers, it was a price that she had to pay in order to save the girl. At the night of the extraction, before the vampires forming the barrier could transfer the nightmare into a vessel, the princess which the angel has bonded with came out of nowhere and absorbed the nightmare accidentally."

I closed my eyes and let out a sigh, wanting to punch myself because of how stupid I was.

"That's Alexa's story isn't it?" I breathed.

She shook her head. "It's everyone's story. Everyone is part of her life now. When the nightmare transferred into her, we were all panicking, not sure what we should do since that there is only so little of information about it. Celina bottled up her feelings inside her, just like Thana did. When that bottle was filled with her emotions, she tried to seal it tight so that none of it would leak out. But we all know what happens to things that get filled too much."

"It breaks." I breathed.

She nodded and sighed. "We aren't sure of what happened. We got one thing down but that isn't enough. We have a whole list of things to go through and figure out, and Celina's still missing. But we all know that fighting wouldn't make things easier for any of us." She said and placed a hand on my shoulder. "I know that I can both trust you. What Cyrus said was right, Celina has gone through so much, but the things that made it hard for her in the first place is accepting that you all lied to her."

My eyes widened as I opened my mouth. How could she think that? I was her friend, she was mine. The only true friend that I ever got...

I was speechless.

"I know that you didn't though." With that, I stared into her eyes and saw the honesty that she meant. "You wouldn't go through all of that just to see her. Trust me, you wouldn't want to know how I reacted when Ash told me when you first came here. You might be suspicious of Celina's nightmare taking over her, but I know that you didn't want this to happen. We all know what Philip is capable of but in the end, we all need to help Celina by helping each other. I'm sorry for what Cyrus said, I know that he is too. But you know how brothers can be when it comes to these things."

I closed my eyes and nodded. I would literally kill anyone who'll hurt my sister. I guess that's how Cyrus felt too. I just didn't understand it earlier because of the tension and the stress.

"I know, I'm sorry..." I breathed.

I felt the presence of my sister walking up to me so I opened my eyes and saw her right next to me, smiling.

I smiled back to her and looked at Angelica again. "I promise you that I will do whatever it takes to bring her back."

She nodded and walked up to the balcony. "I'll be counting on that." She said.

A light started to form on both sides of her back until it grew into a pair of white wings, leaving me and my sister surprised. She already told us that she's an angel but I never knew that it would be breathtaking to see it yourself.

"I'll be taking my leave now, a chief can't be gone for long you know." She said and spread her wings.

I almost nodded but I instantly looked at her with my eyebrows crossed. "You're the chief?!" I exclaimed.

She giggled and nodded. "Yeah. Killed the last chief that was the last Death Angel, I told you before right?"

"So that was you bragging about yourself earlier?" I bluntly said which she answered with a giggle and took off.

I closed my eyes and walked in, letting myself fall on the couch with a groan.

"You okay?" Astrid breathed when she sat next to me.

I sighed and nodded.

"Her family is amazing." I breathed.
