Cyrus' POV

We all gathered the rest and waited for the sun to set. If Celina is right, then Thana or The Nightmare will surface this night. We explained to the rest how important this is and that they shouldn't intervene.

"Where are the girls?" Mom asked Dad.

Dad turned around from Uncle Aiden and looked at Mom. "They're already in the safe house." He said which made Mom nod.

"We only have one shot of this, if we fail, Thana will be lost to us." She said.

"But are you sure about what you will do?" Grandfather asked Mom.

Mom sighed and nodded. "This is what a Vampire Goddess should do, and this is what a Queen must do." She said with confidence.

I walked towards her and put my hand on her shoulder. She turned her head to me and smiled. "It'll be alright." She said.

"Mom, I don't want you to get hurt."

She smiled and turned around to face me. "I won't. I don't want Thana to go away. And I can tell that you don't either." She smirked while she wiggled her eyebrows up and down.

"It's not like that." I said and looked outside. "I just want to protect everyone."

She hushed and took me in her arms. "You will."

For a whole 18 years, our family has suffered enough. I don't want them to suffer any longer.

I sat down on a chair and cupped my face on my hands.

This only happened because of me. I was so obsessed of protecting my family that I didn't realize that my actions would endanger them in the end. I was caught up in saving my sister that I didn't give much thought of being nice to her. If only I knew what will happen, then I would've done everything to prevent this.

"Cyrus." Dad walked towards me. He sat next to me and wrapped his arm over my shoulders. "Are you alright?" He asked which made me shook my head.

I lifted my head up and sighed. "I'm sorry." I breathed.

"It's not your fault." He said. "Ever since she could remember, she has been bullied and mistreated. That's why Angelica brought her here. Whenever she was training with other angels, they would beat her up and leave her in a corner somewhere just because she was different." He said which made me glare at him.

"That made me feel a lot better." I said sarcastically.

He chuckled and patted my back. "You might have made her create her nightmare but you can save her from it, you won't just be saving us, but you will be saving her as well." He said.

I smiled. "In all your advice, that was the only one that's useful." I said which made him stand tall with both of his hands on his hips.

"I'll take that as a compliment." He chuckled. "Now go and check on the girls while we still have time." He said and shoved me towards the hallway with a chuckle.

I sighed and walked towards the safe house.

Maybe I'm just being paranoid.

But whatever this is, I have to do what I can. I have to keep Celina safe from Thana. For all I know, the nightmare is targeting Celina. If this creature is powerful enough to travel into the dreams of the others, then it is powerful enough to travel into the waking world.

Soon enough, I reached the safe house.

I disabled the security system and walked inside, enabling it as soon as I entered.
