Cyrus' POV
I made my way towards Celina's room, hoping to find a clue to what could have happened to her and to the soldier that got wounded. If I'm right, then Celina's wounds transfers to different people but on the same place where she had it.
I shook my head for a couple of times while trying to figure out what could have set it off. But then my eyes widened with shock and fear.
I ran towards her room as quick as I could. I slammed the door open, not caring if I wake her or not.
"What the hell Cyrus!" She exclaimed when she jolted up from her bed in shock. I crossed my eyebrows and widened my eyes in surprise.
"You never cursed." I stated while still surprised.
She sighed and glared. "Then don't do that again if you don't want to hear another one." She pointed which I gladly agreed to.
I took a deep breath and started making my way towards her bathroom, ignoring her questions.
I opened the door and saw a razor blade and a bloody fabric on her sink. There was also smudged blood on the floor which I failed to notice when I came in earlier to calm her down. I bended a knee and brushed my finger across the tiles, seeing if the blood was real. It stuck on to my fingers which indicated that it was still fresh. The texture of the blood had the same texture of the blood on the barracks. It happened at the same time, which means that my theory was correct and the blood wouldn't lie, because if Celina did say that she cut herself and that it was a lie because there was no wound on her arm, how can anyone explain the blood. And I trust my sister; I know she wouldn't lie to me, not in this kind of mess.
Stood up and looked at the razor blade on the sink and the soaked fabric with blood. I couldn't help but cringe at the sight. Don't get me wrong, the blood is a normal thing for me to see but what made me cringe was the fact that my sister went through all of this and I wasn't here to help or even calm her down.
A part of me wanted to comfort myself for being here just in time, but there is also a part of me who wanted to punch myself for letting her lock herself in her room while I pressed my ear against the door, listening to anything that she might do that honestly would make me look like a pervert if anybody saw me.
I sighed and turned around to get back to the room.
I closed my eyes and pressed my fingers on the side of my nose bridge. I held it for a few seconds while I made my way towards her bed slowly.
"What's wrong?" She asked in a worried tone. I took a deep breath and let go. I opened my eyes and walked towards her.
I held out my hand and crossed my eyebrows. "Let me see." I demanded which made her frown.
"You're mad, aren't you?" She pouted and looked down on her hands while she fiddled with her fingers.
I shook my head and sighed. Sitting down next to next, I wrapped an arm around her shoulder. "I would never get mad at you." I said which made her smile. "I just want to make sure that you're alright." I smiled. "Now let me see your arm."
She nodded and turned on her side. She exposed the part of her arm which she cut a while ago. I crossed my eyebrows and examined it. "There's not even a scratch."
She nodded at the statement and straightened her body. "I fell before that, but I didn't feel it too."
"I heard." I said which she didn't respond to.
I don't know whether I should say about what happened at the barracks but I have the feeling that I wouldn't figure it out if I don't. Both sides of me are fighting with each other again, and none of them are winning.
"Did you tell mom?" She asked but I shook my head to say no. She sighed and closed her eyes. "I'm an idiot." I clicked my tongue and sighed.
"No. I'm the idiot." I stated. "I failed to protect you, again." I added.
She shook her head. "You didn't fail. It's my fault this time." She said while she looked down and sighed. She crossed her eyebrows and opened her eyes, looking at where she first panicked. "I should've just called you the moment that I fell but didn't feel anything rather than testing it in a dangerous way. You have every right to be mad. But you didn't fail to protect me; the one that wanted to hurt me was my self."
I don't want her to blame herself and I don't care if she blames me. She has a lot of stuff that she's been going through and I don't want her to blame herself anymore. I closed my eyes and gathered every thought that I have and thought of something that might defuse the tension or I can bring up to change the subject but all I could think of were problems that needed to be solved.
So to prevent myself from saying things that I might regret in the end, I just kept my mouth shut.
She looked as depressed as she was when she woke up three days after the extraction. I don't want to see her like that anymore.
I let out a sigh and reached my hand out, wrapping it over her shoulder; I pulled her and kissed the side of her head. She didn't respond, she just kept staring down. "You don't need to blame yourself. No one is at fault, okay?" I said hoping to fix this like how we fixed it the first time.
When she didn't responded, I let out a sigh and stood up which made her look at me and gave me a questioning look. "Where are you going?" She asked.
I stretched out my arms and yawned. "I have work to do." I said which made her frown.
"I thought you don't work." She said with a child's voice which made me laugh.
"Nope, I still need to make sure that everything inside and out the palace doesn't have any problem that might lead into a serious one." I hoped that it would convince her.
She looked at me and stared into my eyes for a few seconds before nodding. "What should I do for the time being then?" She asked.
"Since you haven't eaten breakfast yet, I'll ask Angelica to come and bring you some." I said. She nodded before I held her chin and titled her head up. "Don't worry. It'll only take a few minutes. I'll ask Thana if she could come as well." When she heard Thana's name her face suddenly lit up. It's a good thing that she liked Thana from the very first time that they met. If there is someone here that she enjoys to be with, then I guess that would be Thana. They just sort of bonded with each other and just clicked. It's also a good thing that she's my mate, or else Celina would not approve if my mate was someone she didn't knew.
I smiled and patted the top of her head. Her smile never left her face. She started humming and started smiling, grinning and smirking. I laughed whenever her facial expressions changed, but she didn't seem to mind since that she's busy plotting whatever it is that she's plotting.
"Well." I breathed which finally got her attention. She looked at me and kept waiting if there's anything that I should say. I smiled. "I should probably get going." I said.
She smiled widely and jumped out of her bed. "I'm going to get ready." She happily said when she went running for her dresser. She pulled a drawer out and hummed while she searched through it. She pulled out a few clothes and examined it before putting it back and shuffled all her clothes just to find the perfect outfit.
"Get ready for what?" I asked. She turned her head around and gasped when she noticed that I was still there.
She laughed and turned her head back to her dresser and continued the search. "I thought you left." She said and took a shirt out. She looked at it for a few seconds before smiling and nodding in content. She pushed back the drawer and pulled the drawer below it. She started to look for pants that would go perfect with her shirt. "It's been days since me and Thana got together to just have fun." She said and took a jean out. "Since that you'll be busy with your work..." She said while she quoted. "I'll be asking Thana to show me around the place." She said. She then made her way towards her shoe cabinet and started to look for shoes that will finish up her outfit. "I've lived in that place my whole life, without even knowing what it's like to be in someplace different and someplace far away." I crossed my eyebrows and hoped that she doesn't feel anything negative about what she was saying. "So..." she said and took out her shoes. "I'm not going to stay in this place and do the same, I want to go out and see the world." She said with a bright smile that convinced me that she was perfectly alright, without any hidden messages that might lead into an outburst.
I just smiled and nodded. "I'll be going then." I said and walked towards the door while she searched for some accessories that might go with the outfit that she chose. "I'll be informing Thana about your plan today." I said which made her nod.
"Appreciate it Cy." She said which made me stop at my tracks and smiled.
I turned the handle and pulled the door open, stepping out when it was wide enough. I closed the door behind me, still smiling.
I shook my head and sighed. I should be more concerned about her plans for today, god knows what would happen when she steps outside the palace.
Maybe I should send some guards with them?
Or maybe I should go with them.
Or maybe I could just tell her that she's not leaving this place until I say so.
But that would just mean that I won't be any better than them.
"You're lost in thought." I heard someone giggled.
I looked at the direction where the voice came from and smiled. "This is becoming a habit of yours, isn't it?" I said which made her laugh and walk closer to me.
"Your Mom had things to do. She apologized over and over again about how we only got to spend some time with each other with such a short time." She said.
I smiled and pulled her close to me, resting my chin on the top of her head. She wrapped her arms around me and took a deep breath.
"I love you and your family." She breathed which made me smile wider.
I pulled away and kissed the top of her forehead, sending shivers through her body and sending comfort within mine. "And we love you." I stated.
She smiled and stared into my eyes. Her red orbs made her wild and at the same time, gentle. Her smile vanished but it sent an overwhelming feeling in my chest. Her lips parted slightly from one another. She looked longingly at me and I couldn't help but do the same.
She held both of my upper arm and slightly tightened her grip.
I breathed and started to lean in. She closed her eyes and stood on her toes, leaning in with me.
Our faces inched closer and closer until our lips were only a few centimeters away. My heart started pounding and adrenaline started rushing. I readied myself to finally land my lips to hers.
"Thana!!" The door suddenly flung open, revealing an excited Celina crying out to her.
Our eyes both widened as we slowly turned out heads towards Celina who smiled widely.
She blinked a few times and titled her head in a questioning manner. "Bad time?" She asked innocently which made me glare and Thana blush bright red.
I took a few steps back from Thana with a disappointed look. I sighed and looked at her. She looked at me worriedly but I took a deep breath and sigh.
I smiled warmly. "Celina wants to go out; she wants to ask if you could come with her." I said which made my mate smile widely.
"Can we?" They both said in unison while they both tried to hold their excitements to their selves.
I smiled and nodded which made them cheer and squeal.
"I already picked what I'm going to wear!" Celina cheered and went back inside, fully informed that Thana is behind her.
They both got in so I turned around with full disappointment.
But before I could take a step forwards, I heard footsteps that came from behind me. A force pulled down my arm which dragged my whole body along with it and felt a soft sensation that pressed on to my cheeks.
It was my mate.
She let go of my arm which made me look at her with my eyes widened with her surprise.
I smiled and hid her hands on her back and bit her lower lip. Her face was bright red which made her look even more precious. "A reservation for the real thing." She said while made me smile.
I walked in front of her and leaned down and kissed her cheek. "Everything is the real thing." I said which left her speechless.
She brushed her hand over to where I planted my kiss and smiled.
"I love you Cyrus Alexander." She said and ran into Celina's room.
I heard Celina's distant laugh. "Why are you blushing?" She said which made Thana squeal.
I smiled and headed towards the library where I know that Mom might be in.
"Mom, I'm heading to the library." I linked and waited for her reply.
"Great! I'm here looking for something, you could help." She linked back.
After a few minutes of walking I was standing in front of the huge library door.
No matter how many times I go here, this place never ceases to amaze me.
"What are you looking for?" I asked when I pulled out a chair and sat on it.
She flipped the pages while she sat across me. "Just stuff." She said and flipped it some more.
I sighed. "You said that I could help."
She giggled. "You are helping."
"I'm not even doing anything." I stated.
She closed the book and reached out for a new one from the one's that's been piled on next to her. "You're keeping me company." She said and opened it, coughing when she inhaled the dust that it sent flying.
I sighed and titled my head up. "The girls are going out, Celina wanted to." I said.
She nodded and smiled. "It'll be great for her to get out and forget about the things that happened." She said and looked at me. "And she'll get to have some time with her future sister-in-law." She teased but pouted. "I wish that I could go with them though."
I laughed and smiled at her. "You'll get a whole lifetime to be with her."
She looked at me and smiled then looked down on her book. "I think that you'll be the one who'll be spending most of your time with her."
I crossed my eyebrows and felt my face heating up.
"So..." she said and closed her book, putting it aside and looked at me. "What time are they leaving?" She asked.
"They should have left by now. With Celina's excitement, she wouldn't want to waste a single minute hanging around when they could do it outside." I said which made her nod in agreement.
She smiled and stared at me again, but before she could say anything else, the door swung open which revealed a tired out guard.
"Head Commander." Mom stated as the guard bowed his head to show respect.
He nodded at me which I nodded back and turned his head back to Mom. "I'm terribly sorry for the intrusion your highness, but a boy and a girl came and said that they know the Princess." He stated.
Mom and I looked at each other with confusion and both crossed our eyebrows.
"Who did they say they were?" Mom asked.
The head commander crossed his eyebrows and looked slightly to his right as he tried to remember their names.
"The boy said that his name was Shawn." He stated as my eyes widened and questions raved throughout my head.
What the hell is he doing here?!
