(A/N: Another update for my awesome readers! I hope you enjoy this one too! And there is an important announcement below so please check it out. Enjoy!)
Cyrus' POV
I stormed out of the library and begun my walk towards where the head commander said Shawn was waiting.
"Cyrus!" My mom called out while she tried to catch up to me.
I crossed my eyebrows and huffed. "I have somewhere that I need to be Mom." I said.
I heard her footsteps and within a few seconds she was behind me. She pulled my arm back which made me stop.
"I may not be a Goddess anymore but I am still a Queen, and you will listen to the Queen." She said in a strict tone but I could tell that she's doing her best to act all tough and I know that she wants to burst out into laughter.
I smiled and chuckled. "And you are my Mother." I said which made her smile and stick her tongue out.
She happily linked her arm with mine and started dragging me. "That means that you will listen to me." She sang.
Since I had no other choice but to shut up and listen, I just sighed and let her calm me down.
Shawn's POV
"Is this the right palace?" Astrid asked while she held my arm tightly.
I shrugged my shoulders and sighed, not taking my eyes off the door. "This is the only palace here." I crossed my eyebrows and finally looked at her. "If this is the wrong palace then shouldn't you think about why the guards didn't send us off when we said that we came to see the princess?"
She looked at me and raised an eyebrow. "What if she's not the only princess?"
"Astrid, she's the vampire princess and this is where the royal vampire family lives, there shouldn't be another vampire princess." I said which made her sighed and nod in agreement.
"Fair point." She said.
I turned my head to the door once more and waited for Alexa to come out, but no one did.
I was getting irritated.
The more we wait, the more I want to just barge in there and just start looking for Alexa but something just made me stand and wait until someone comes out to face me.
"Shawn..." Astrid breathed as she pulled on my arm.
I crossed my eyebrows and tried to ignore her. I'm doing my best to keep calm at the moment so I don't need a complaint from her for that I have a lot of those already going on in my head.
"Shawn..." She breathed once more but I just couldn't take it.
I huffed and turned my head to her and was about to shout when she beat me to the punch.
"Shawn!" She exclaimed and held the back of my neck and pushed it down. "Duck!" She shouted as we both got on the ground.
Before I could complain, a large creature flew just a few meters above us and flew higher to the sky.
My eyes widened as I slowly stood up, holding my sister close to me. "That's not a duck! That's a freaking dragon!"
We both looked up as it disappeared into the clouds.
"Shawn..." Astrid breathed as we both waited for it to come out. "Where is it?" She tightened her grip on my arm as hers kept shaking.
The black dragon emerged from the sky and dove down above us. It started to glow from its chest until the light engulfed it whole. The form started to shrink as the creature falls closer to the ground, and if I've forgotten to say this, but it's falling just above us.
Astrid panicked and started to pull me away but due to shock, she couldn't move me for even an inch. I just stared at the falling creature as it falls closer.
Astrid ran aside and kept shouting at me but I crossed my eyebrows and saw how the figure turned into a figure of a woman.
The light scattered by tiny orbs and revealed a girl. She had black hair that had shades of ash on the tip. She slowly opened her eyes and smiled.
My eyes widened when I remembered that she was going to fall directly on me.
I started to panic and decided to jump out of the way but it was too late.
I let out a groan when I felt something land on my back. I started to breathe heavily as I slowly turned my head around, just enough for me to see the girl standing on my back.
"Why didn't you move?" She asked and looked at me with her big blue orbs that had swirls of ash on it.
I crossed my eyebrows. "Well, why did you land on me?!" I screamed which made her giggle.
"Shawn!" Astrid exclaimed as she ran towards me.
The girl turned her head to where Astrid was and started smiling widely. My eyes widened. In just a blink of an eye, my back was lighter which means that she was gone. I looked to where Astrid was running and saw that she wasn't there anymore.
I quickly stood up with my eyes widened and panicked.
I heard a scream and turned my head to the other side which made me cross my eyebrows while I stared at my sister on the ground with the girl on top of her, hugging her to be exact.
"Shawn..." She breathed as tears formed on her eyes.
I started to walk towards her but something, or rather someone made me stop.
"Ash!" A male voice shouted which made me turn my head towards the direction to where the voice came from.
A guy walked out of the palace with a woman that resembled Alexa. I crossed my eyebrows as I started to look closely at the guy.
My mouth hung open as my voice failed to work.
He walked past me and walked towards the two girls.
"Don't scare the shit out of the girl Ash!" He stated as the girl named Ash pouted and got up. He shook his head in disappointment before offering his hand to my sister. "I'm sorry." He breathed as he got my sister to stand up. "Dragons can be a bit hyper." He stated while Astrid brushed the dirt off of her.
"I thought dragons were extinct." Astrid said.
The guy laughed and looked at Ash. "She's too stubborn to be extinct." He cleared his throat and excused his self from my sister. But when he turned his head towards me, his face had turned from soft, into intimidatingly scary.
My eyes widened as he inched closer. "Just don't say anything that'll lead into a misunderstanding." The woman said when she popped next to me. "He won't hurt you." She said as she started to walk towards him but stopped and turned her head back to me. "That much." She continued which made my eyes widen even more.
They walked past each other. The woman walked over to my sister while the guy clenched his jaw and stood in front of me.
"Why are you here?" He asked.
I cleared my throat and took a deep breath. "My name is--"
"Shawn." He stated. "I know who you are. I'm asking why you are here."
I took another deep breath. "I came to see--"
"She won't see--"
He started to cut me off again but I interrupted him while he did. "Can you just let me say what I want to say, you wouldn't ask me if you're just going to ask yourself in my place." I said which made him nod for me to continue. "I want to see you sister." I didn't have to ask about their relationship, I already know that he's her brother, or rather, her twin.
He shot an eyebrow up. "And why would you want to see her? And why would she want to see you?"
"I want to explain something to her, and I want to know how she's doing."
He shifted his weight to his other leg and averted his eyes. "She's doing alright." He said and looked at me. "And I can pass the message to her."
I shook my head and sighed. "I know that you too have misunderstood, but I just want to explain that--"
"That what? That you had nothing to do with Philip and that actually cared about her?" He said which didn't make me think of a response since that he already said what I wanted to say. He shook his head and walked past me, but stopped when he was only a few inches away from me. "Just go home and tell Philip that you failed to retrieve her for him."
I turned around, irritated. "Can you just let me see her?" I asked. "Please." I breathed.
"I'll send you a picture." He said but then stopped when the woman spoke.
"Cyrus Alexander." She said in a serious tone. "These people have traveled a long way just to see if your sister is alright."
Cyrus turned around in irritation and glared at me. "They came here to take Celina away, Mom." He said which made it clearer that the woman was indeed their Mother. It was rather obvious actually, the black hair and the sapphire eyes.
I crossed my eyebrows and looked at him. "Celina?" I asked which made him scoff.
"You've known her longer than I do which I would honestly say that I am rather jealous of it but to think that you don't even really know her." He said which confused me more. "Her name is Celina Alexandra, she is the Vampire Princess and she deserves to be with her family." He stated.
I shook my head and looked at Astrid then back at him. "We did not come here to take her away from you, we just want to explain ourselves." I said but he shook his head and huffed. "If you would just let us see her..." I pleaded. "I will accept if she will turn us away, but before you make the decision for her, let her decide for herself." I sighed and walked towards him. "I don't care she wants to kill me or do whatever she wants, but I will endure anything if I can get to see her even for just a bit." I said and waited for his response.
Cyrus' POV
I almost cringed at his statement; no one could be more cheesier than this one.
"Let them see her." Mom linked which made me look at her.
She stared at me with a serious look, I know for a fact that this time, she's being serious. "But what if this is all a trap? What if they came here to take her back there?" I linked which made her shook her head.
"If he came here to take her back, he wouldn't endanger his sister." She linked and crossed her eyebrows. "If you were on a dangerous mission and you know that you might get killed in that mission that someone ordered you to do, would you bring your sister with you?" She asked and raised an eyebrow.
I sighed and shook my head. "No, I won't. But still, that doesn't prove that they're not here to take her away." I defended.
"If they're here to take her away then don't let them. But for now, let them prove who they really are. Just like Shawn said, let your sister decide for herself." She said and sighed.
I nodded and looked at Shawn again. "I will let you see her." I stated which made him smile and looked at his sister. "But..." I added. He turned his head back to me and waited for me to continue. "You will not see her without anyone in this family accompanying her. You will not spend some time alone and you will not demand for anything more. You will stay in your rooms until you are called out or not unless that a guard is with you when you go out." I said which made him nod and bow his head.
"You have my word." He stated.
I looked at him and glared. "Break your word and I'll have your head instead." I said and turned around.
I didn't waste my time and my life training to save and protect her just for them to take her away from me again. I don't care if mom scolds me after this, but I swore to keep her protect from anything and from anyone, by any means necessary.
**
Hey guys! Thank you so much for all the support that you've given me! Thank you for giving me your time to read this story but it will only be a few chapters away until the ending. I've been working on some plots and twists to make the next chapters interesting up to the point where the chapters will be longer and the scenes will be more intense than the others.
Let me hear your thoughts!
