Celina's POV

I was eventually in the middle of my panic attack when I heard a voice across the hallways behind me which made me scream.

"I'm sorry! I shouldn't have shouted!" I turned around once I heard those words. I saw a busty girl that looked around my age. She had black hair with shades of ash on the tip of it. She ran towards my direction.

I clutched my chest and sighed. I shook my head and smiled at her. "It's alright. I'm sorry I screamed." I said and let out an awkward laugh.

When she finally reached me, she was breathless. "I'm... sorry..." she said between her breaths and tried to catch her breath. When she finally did, she smiled. "Running's not really my thing, I'm more into flying."

"Huh?"

She laughed. "I gave you three a ride home when they took you away from that place." She smiled which confused me further.

"B-But how?" I stuttered a response which made her smile even wider.

I took a deep breath and let it out. "I'm a dragon." She proudly said.

H-Huh?

Aren't dragons supposed to look less like humans and look more like an over grown lizard with huge wings and sharp teeth and scaly body and breathes fire?!

She noticed how uncomfortable I became so she dropped her wide smile and just went for a regular one. "You're confused, aren't you?" she jokingly said.

I nodded hesitantly which made her sigh. "Don't worry, I don't eat people, I eat fish. I can shift between dragon and human, but I was born a dragon. I was able to shift into a human at least 17 years ago." She said with her arms crossed.

Does she make any sense?!

"But you said you were born a dragon and you were able to turn into a human 17 years ago. So you were months old when you were able to shift?" I asked.

She shook her head and smiled. "I was 10 that time."

WHAT?!

"I-I'm sorry. I don't understand what you're saying." I said nervously which made her smile.

"We age a year when you age two. In my dragon years I was 10 but in your years I was already 20."

So does that mean...

"I'm 37 and turning 38 in a few months." She proudly said with both of her hands on her waist.

I was speechless.

"But think none of that." She smiled. "Just consider my dragon age which is 18." She said which led me no choice by to nod and smile.

She clapped both of her hands together and turned my body towards the other way. "We'll need to get you to the living room. Everyone's waiting you know." She giggled and walked over me, held my hand and dragged me along.

I didn't say a word, I just followed her, letting her drag me along with her.

After walking for such a long distance we finally reached a room with a huge door. She opened it and revealed a few gathered people in the middle of the room. The room had a gentle lighting but what made my jaw drop was the furnishing. It was elegant compared to the mansion. I know that I'm overthinking things since that this is a palace after all, but I still can't believe that I live here or rather that I'm going to be living here. I looked up and saw a crystal chandelier hanging in the middle part of the room, on the sides were vintage looking candle holders which makes me think of a secret passage once you pull a secret lever.

They all stopped chattering when they noticed that I already came in. There were no expressions at first but after a few milliseconds their faces had a wide smile plastered on it.

I smiled and waved which made them smile wider.

"Celina!" A man called and lifted me up from my feet and hugged me tightly. I was put down to the floor and had him smiling warmly at me. He held both of my arms and looked at me from head to toe. He smiled widely and hugged me again. "My baby's all grown up!" He exclaimed which became much clearer to me.

This man is my dad.

"U-Um... I can't... breathe..." I said which made him pull away immediately. He gave me and apologetic smile before making me turn towards the group of people.

"Now, why don't you meet everyone?" he said and pushed me towards them.

I couldn't speak. But then, I was facing them.

I saw Mom walking towards me with a warm smile and walking alongside her was my so-called brother.

They reached me with a smile still plastered on their faces. I smiled back and waved.

They called them one at a time and introduced themselves to me.

By the end of the day, I got to know them all and confirmed that Ash was really a dragon.

My father's name is Xander, he and my mother, Sapphire, are mates. Aiden is his older brother, Casey, my mother's best friend is his mate. May is the youngest and has a were wolf called mark as a mate, but of course he had a human appearance. Elena and Jasper are their parents and Samantha is my mother's. Ash is a dragon that Mom found and Angelica is an angel that Casey and Aiden took in and adopted.

Things were lively while the sun sets but then slowly turned silent.

Dad cleared his throat. "Can everyone take sit please?" Dad said and took a sit himself.

I sat next to Mom and before Dad could speak, all of them turned serious. I know myself that this family doesn't only feel joy and doesn't always celebrate, I can see that they are used to planning serious things and talking it out.

Dad sighed and looked at me seriously. Somehow I knew that the look that he's giving me right now is the "You better explain yourself young lady." Look. It is my first time meeting them all but I somehow get the feeling that there is a connection between us all that makes me understand them even if we just only met.

"Celina..." Dad breathed and held Mom's hand. "Your Mother told me that... you... uh..." he rubbed the back of his neck and clicked his tongue along with a few shakes of his head from left to right. "...had been training for something while you were at Philip's." He said which I answered with a slow nod.

"Okay." He breathed and looked at Mom. Somehow I know what those looks mean. Mom nodded and tightened her grip on his hand and smiled.

"Your Father... well... all of us wanted to know what you've been there with Philip?" She said in a worried tone but still wore a faint smile on her face.

I crossed my eyebrows at first but I nodded. "They all said that Philip found me somewhere when I was still a baby." I said which they answered with a nod or two. "I was 10 when Philip started training me. I tried asking him why but he just said that he doesn't want me to be defenseless when needed. Emily said that Philip has too many enemies so I need to train how to fight in order to defend myself somehow." I said which made them ask who Emily is. "She's the one who took care of me since Philip didn't seem to care about me, now I know why." I said with an irritated voice and looked down on my lap. I unfolded my hands which I didn't know was formed into fists and sighed. All those years, I tried my best to earn Philip's praise while I should have tried getting out of there.

That thought seemed to hurt when Emily, Astrid and Shawn's face flashed into my mind.

That's right. If I learned the truth a long time ago, while I was still there, I wouldn't have met them. They were the only ones who were actually nice to me. All of Philip's men eyed me whenever we get passed each other.

Before I could say anything, I heard a high pitched squeal and before I know it, my face was buried between Ash's chest and had her arms wrapped around me. "Don't you worry!" She exclaimed with a giggle. "We'll replace your memories with good ones!" She said. She pulled away and looked into my eyes. "No more frowning, 'kay?" She smiled which didn't give me much choice to answer but a nod.

Maybe this isn't a bad thing. Maybe someday I can face them again to apologize and explain what happened, but for now, I guess I just need to do what I can to forget about Philip.

Because I know that it's for the best.
