Cyrus' POV

Do you know the feeling when you made up your mind and lie to your parents to cover up something you did and then they end up believing the whole shit as if they either trust you wholeheartedly or that they don't give a shit in the first place?

That's how it went at the mansion.

Philip didn't even tried to fight back when we tried to get the book.

Sure he have his army on our tails but why did he let us go when he could take it back the moment he went in his office and saw us turning the place upside down.

You know what he did?

The guy went back outside pretending he didn't see a thing!

How weird was that?

It was like finding a burglar in your house in the middle of the night and you're just like "Hey don't mind me! I'm just getting a glass of water! Get back to what you're doing, okay?" What the fuck was that kind of reaction?!

I was in the middle of my mental ranting when someone shook me and broken my train of thoughts.

"What the fuck?!" I screamed and turned my head to the person I was willing to push overboard the moment we flew up.

He flinched at my sudden outburst and the face he had showed how he was thinking of whether he should keep his mouth shut or if he would still try to talk to me.

"Umm... They're gone now..." There you go.
I raised an eyebrow up and looked past him, looking around if they've just flew below us so that we wouldn't see them tailing us.

When I was satisfied, I let out a breath that I didn't know I was holding and let my body fall on Ash's back.

"Oh thank the gods..." I breathed.

"You didn't even fight anyone, why do you make it look like you fought his entire army?" Ash linked which made me shake my head.

"Flying gets me exhausted."

I heard Ash let out a breath. "Dude you're only riding on my back. You only snatched the book and ran away!"

"I did not run  away!" I tried to defend my ego but guess who wants to kill it?

"Well yes, technically I flew you guys away when his army was chasing after you. So how exhausted did you say you were again?"

Okay that's it! I am not talking to her for a good 4 hours when we get back!

"Okay! I'm mentally exhausted!" I admitted, not letting the argument go further on.

She let out a satisfied sigh. "There you go."

Rolling my eyes, I shook my head and sighed. I don't know why I'm this tired but there is still one thing that I don't know as well.

Why did Philip let us go?

**

"I told you a thousand times Mom, I'm fine." I flopped down on the couch and pinched the bridge of my nose. Mom has been bugging me since the moment we arrived. I mean yes she's my mother and I understand that she's worried but isn't coming home without a scratch on me good enough for her to know that I'm really fine?

But good thing I'm not that guy on the corner trying to get his sister off of him before she could crush the lights out of him.

I mentally sighed and thought of Celina.

Mom finally gave up and sat next to me, placing her hand on my shoulder.

"We all miss her Cy." Mom spoke softly, the kind of voice she uses when she tries to tell me that everything's going to be alright.

I sighed and looked at her, letting her gentle smile calm me down.

"Have you gotten anything yet?" I asked, trying to take my mind off of how I miss her.

Shaking her head, she gave me a small smile. "I don't know... I've been with you since you came home."

"You mean you've been asking me if I was alright since I came home." I said in a humorous tone which made her roll her eyes at me and turned her back.

God I love my mother.

The four of us was disturbed by the sudden sound of the door being pushed open when my eyes widened at who stood in front of us.

Is it just me or did my exhaustion-- I mean mental exhaustion took a toll on me?
