Chapter 10 - He Still Cares

Celina's POV

"Emily!" I shouted while I grabbed her hand and shook her to wake up.

She was covered in blood, her dress was torn, she had claw marks all over her body and she has a deep wound on her belly. I cried harder.

"Emily please wake up!" I shouted while I shook her harder.

One of the doctors tried to pull me away from her but I kept on pushing him away from me.

"Don't touch me!" I shouted which made him stood still. 

 cried and held her hand.

"Emily." I cried.

I buried my face on her bed while I held her cold hand.

"Wake up." I said quietly.

A second later I felt her tighten her grip on to my hand.

"Alexa." She breathed which made me shot up and tears filled my eyes.

She's awake. The doctors were alarmed.

"Kid if you want to let her live let us take care of her." The doctor who was trying to pull me away earlier said.

I didn't really have a choice. Emily said that our doctors here are professionals so we need to trust them. I looked at Emily before I let go of her hand.

"I'll be alright, I'll see you in a few hours, okay?" She said while she forced herself to smile but I know she's in pain.

I didn't want to let go but I have to, to save Emily. I nodded and slowly let go of her hands and slowly backing away from the bed and back to Shawn.

"She'll be alright, right?" I asked while tears flow down.

Shawn sighed and wrapped his arm around my shoulder.

"She will be."

A few hours later, I woke up on Shawn's shoulder. I gasped which woke him up. He yawned and rubbed his eyes.

"What's wrong?" he asked but I shook my head

I got up and walked towards the door.

"What's going on inside?" I asked while I tried to peak in on the round window on the door.

He shrugged his shoulders.

"They're still fixing her up, I guess?" he said which didn't really assured me. I sighed and went back to my seat.

"Do you think that everything will go back to normal?" I asked again. He smiles and pats me on the top of my head.

"I know it will." That one made me smile. Then the door opened.

"Is Alexa here?" The doctor said while he wipes his hands.

I raised my hand and spoke confidently.

"I'm Alexa!" I said which made the doctor look down and smiled.

He got down on his knees and sighed.

"She's waiting for you." Without a second to lose I went rushing in again, this time I don't have to search for her, I know where she's in.

I slowly stepped forward towards her bed. I was relieved when I saw her all cleaned up from the blood and she was resting peacefully.

"Emily?" I said.

She opened her eyes and looked at me. She smiled and spread her arms. I smiled while I ran towards her and gave her a tight hug.

"You made me worry!" I scolded her. She giggled.

"Slow down there, I'm still recovering." She said which reminded me of it. 

l slowly pulled away and frowned.

"I'm sorry if I made you worry." She smiled warmly making me smile back.

We were obviously bonding with each other when I heard someone panting and running towards her bed, when I saw who it was, I was shocked. Uncle Philip. It was the first time that I saw him this way. His hair was all messy, his clothes weren't fixed up and he looked so tired. I got down from Emily's bed while Philip walks towards us. I sat down quietly on the chair next to the bed and watched them. Philip finally reaches Emily. Emily was giving Philip a warm and apologetic smile while Philip gave off this disturbing aura. Then he karate chops the top of Emily's head, leaving Emily whining about how her body hurts.

"Why?" Emily whined.

Philip clicked his tongue and breaks down on Emily's bed, crying on her blanket.

"Don't ever do that again!" Philip scolded.

Emily calmed down and looked at Philip while he cried. She gently pats him on his back, soothing him.

"Sorry to make you worry."

"Damn you! You're the only family I have! Don't ever try to leave this mansion again or I will lock you up in the dungeon for two weeks without letting you see Alexa!" he threatened which made Emily scared of him.

"I can take two weeks in the dungeon but not seeing Alexa, oh nooooo!" She whined. Philip shot her a glare which made her stop.

"Do we have an agreement?" Philip stated which made Emily slowly nod.

"Understood." Emily said in her small child-like voice.

Then, the unexpected happened. Philip hugged Emily. Holy fudge! Is this for real?! I was left in shock but Philip wasn't planning on letting go.

"What the fudge!" I said loudly which made them aware that I was still here, especially Philip who started to panic.

His face was all red and he was shaking. He cleared his throat and sighed. 

"I'll leave you to rest." He said formally to Emily and gave me a nod before he left.

"Did that just..." I was speechless.

Emily laughs and pats me on the back.

"I told you that somehow he still cares." She proudly said.

I guess it's true, the monster still has a heart.
