Cyrus' POV
I nodded and slowly turned around waiting if there was anything that she wanted to say. But she stood there quietly while she gazed at the garden from her balcony. I closed my eyes and sighed quietly, making sure that she doesn't hear it.
I made my way towards the door and let myself out, closing it behind me.
The two girls stared at me for a few seconds. They waited for me to tell them all about what Celina and I talked about, but I didn't want to. The things that we talked about aren't the things that you could just carelessly say to the others. I'm not saying that I wouldn't tell my mate about it but at this moment, we have a guest that we don't want to hear all about it.
I took a deep breath and stepped closer to them, just enough so that Celina wouldn't hear our conversation.
"I talked to her..." I started and look from my mate to Astrid. They both looked at me intently while they waited for me to continue. "She'll see you." Astrid's eyes lit up while they both shared a smile. Thana's smile was full of excitement but Astrid's smile was full of nervousness.
I raised an eyebrow up when she stared at the floor. "What's wrong?" I asked but she shook her head and took in a deep breath while she kept her eyes closed. I could sense that she was trying to calm herself down but she doesn't need to be this nervous since that they traveled a long distance just to see her. So why get nervous now?
"I'm scared that maybe she'll reject me at the end of our conversation." She breathed. "Maybe she'll realize that she really doesn't want to see me when I walk through that door..."
I shook my head and patted the top of her head. "We'll give you some time alone." I said but I'm really thinking that that wouldn't be a good idea. "But, we'll be right here outside the door." I said which made her look questioningly at me. "I'm sorry but we need to keep our guard up at all times. We know that you're a good person but we still can't give you all our trusts, I hope you could understand."
She looked at me with a blank stare but eventually she nodded and smiled. "I understand."
I looked at Thana while she looked at Astrid. I know that Thana will scold me after this for saying that to her but I just can't give them my trust. I know that Thana trusts her already since that they're probably friends already but still, that doesn't mean that I have to trust her just because she's earned my mate's trust.
I closed my eyes and sighed all of my negative thoughts out and smiled at Astrid to comfort her even just a little bit.
"Are you ready?" I said while I walked backwards to the door and held the door knob.
She took a deep breath and nodded. "I'm ready." She breathed.
Celina's POV
I heard the door knob twist followed by the door slowly opening.
I turned my head towards the door and saw it opened. A familiar figure emerged from it as my eyes were met by blue ones.
"Astrid..." I breathed as she gave me a weak smile. I almost smiled but I remembered all the events that happened. I really did want to see her but I just can't stop myself getting hurt every time I remember it all. I quickly turned my head back to the balcony and glared. "What did you want?" I bluntly asked.
She didn't respond.
I crossed my eyebrows and closed my eyes, still waiting for her to respond.
Taking in a deep breath, I waited for her to speak up but she stayed silent, so I decided to turn around and face her, hoping that she'll answer me once I do.
But as soon as I turned around, we were face to face. She stared at me with her now green eyes, looking deep into me as she gave me a smile that I wasn't comfortable with.
Her eyes glowed bright green for a few seconds before I started to back away.
"What do you want?" I asked. I stepped backwards but every step that I took, she takes a step forward. Crossing my eyebrows, I did what I didn't expect myself to do. "CYRUS!" I exclaimed, relying on my brother to come barging in like how he always do whenever I needed him, hoping that he'll come and save me.
She let out a giggle and spoke in a voice that I didn't expect. "They won't hear you." She said in a demonic voice. "I've already casted a spell to make sure that they don't hear what's about to happen in this room."
My eyes widened as I continued to back away.
Soon enough, I was near the door. I hoped that I would get out if I walked out of the room through the balcony, but she had other plans for me.
Before I could drag my feet behind me to step myself out of the room, the door closed, making me stumble in front and fall on to my knees.
I started to breath heavily.
Looking up to her, I glared daggers at her but she didn't even seem to flinch.
"What the hell do you want?!" I screamed.
She placed a smile on her face while she crouched down in front of me. "Come on Alexa, you know exactly what I want." Her eyes started to glow again as I was captured in a vision of what I didn't expect.
In that vision, I saw someone familiar leaning against his table while he let out a chuckle. He stared at me like I was an animal of some sort, eyeing me like I'm an item that he wanted to take possession of. In that vision, I saw...
"Philip..." I breathed.
A tear escaped from my eye as I kept staring at her with my eyes wide open, hoping that this was all a dream, but something inside me made me remember that I couldn't have dreams anymore, I could only have nightmares. But this is beyond all of that, because standing in front of me is a vessel that the man that I never wanted to see again has used to actually get to me.
She slowly stood up while she kept her eyes fixated on me, looking down at me like how Philip always does.
"You've gained a brain." She mocked while she circled around the room, never keeping her eyes off of me.
I stayed on the floor, still trembling for what's happening, still hoping for someone to come in and save me.
"You've never changed." I said with the very little of courage that I have. "Don't you ever know when to give up? You already lost me. I have a family now!" I exclaimed, wishing that it'll be enough for him to leave me alone. But he wasn't ready to do that.
She started to make her way towards me again but this time, it was in an aggressive way, but she stopped half way. Smiling, she closed her eyes and smiled while she continuously shook her head. "Did you really think that they cared for you?" She started off, getting my full attention while I stayed quiet, curious to what she would say. "Do you think that you're really somebody that they want?" she chuckled. "Alexa, you oblivious child..."
I crossed my eyebrows took in a deep breath.
I opened my eyes again and pushed myself up to stand but ended up failing. I felt something struck my chest as I gasped for air. Looking down, I didn't see anything. I raised my head up and looked at Astrid while trying to hide what I just felt.
"Do you really think that you could just forget what all happened at the mansion?" She started again. "All those memories..."
No. I know I couldn't forget.
"All those times that you had fun..."
How could I forget?
"All the people that you've met..."
Flashbacks came rushing in as I started to tear up.
She circled around me, whispering things that I didn't want to hear, saying things that I wanted to forget, pointing out the flaws and mistakes that I did. I didn't want to hear it.
She leaned in to my ear as I kept them cupped, trying to block it all out but seem to have failed.
He's just trying to get in my head, that's all it. There's nothing that can make me break.
There's nothing that can break me.
There's nothing that can break me!
But at the same time, there's nothing that could fix me.
"YOU DON'T BELONG ANYWHERE!"
No...
"NO ONE WOULD WANT YOU!"
Stop it...
"NO ONE WILL ACCEPT YOU!"
That's not true...
By the time that I noticed, I was crouched down on the floor with my hands over my head while I breathed heavily.
I heard footsteps inching closer to me, stopping in front of me as I felt a force leaned down as it kept hovering above me. Feeling her breath indicating on how close she was.
"You are just a weapon that will destroy this world." She whispered, finally breaking me.
Astrid's POV
I was finally able to come back to myself when I felt some force leave my body. I blinked my eyes a few times as my eyes traveled around an unfamiliar room. Last time I know, I was in the living room, looking at Thana and Alexa's brother talking. But, where am I?
I scanned the unfamiliar room as my eyes landed on the door. A light has just broken off of it indicating that a spell had just been broken off of it making me cross my eyebrows.
I heard someone breathing heavily as my eyes fell down on my feet, seeing someone familiar crouched down.
I crossed my eyebrows while I shook her. "Alexa?" I kept on calling her but she just stared blankly the floor while she cupped the sides of her head.
The lights started to go on and off as she continued to breathe heavily.
What happened? What did I do?
"Celina! Astrid! What's going on? Open the door!" Thana's muffled voice shouted from outside the room as Cyrus started to force his way in.
I breathed heavily as I stared at the door while I gather up the courage to even shout to them. "I-I don't know! I don't know what's happening! I don't even know why I'm here!" I exclaimed and looked at Alexa. "Alexa what wrong?" I breathed while tears started to form in her eyes. What should I do?
I breathed heavily as the room started to feel chilly at the same time it started to darken. "Alexa..." I breathed and looked back at her, hoping that she would tell me what to do or what's wrong.
My eyes widened with fear as she slowly raised her head up. I moved a little just to look at her face but she started blankly at a wall. But what frightened me was that her eyes started to change color.
I didn't know what to do. I started to panic when the new color fully transformed her eyes. I stared at her eyes and blinked a couple of times just to make sure that I wasn't just seeing things. But judging from what's happening now, I know that it is indeed real.
My head turned towards the door when it flung open. The lights turned off as soon as they entered the room.
Cyrus panted while his eyes traveled from mine to his sister's. Panic was shown on his face when he took a step forward, but as soon as he did, a strong force quickly shook us as we were all surrounded by a slight shade of blue.
"Astrid, get away from her." Thana said. I looked at her to complain about it but before I could, I realized that she didn't say that to accuse me of anything, she said that because of what could come.
Fear; that's all I could think of as the pounding sensation on my chest stared to get stronger and stronger. I slowly turned my head to Alexa but when our eyes met, she was staring at me with her eyes wide open.
She opened her mouth without her eyes leaving mine. "Run..." She breathed.
My eyes widened but before I could get up, I was thrown over a wall by some force, making me cough out the air that filled my lungs along with blood. I winced at the pain as soon as I was dropped on the floor and there I stayed. I couldn't do anything. I couldn't speak. I couldn't get up. For all I know, I'm going to die.
I slowly opened my right eye and saw Thana running towards me. The warm liquid started to travel from the top of my head to my face.
I felt weak.
My eyes turned to Cyrus and saw him staring at something with horror. I looked at the direction he was looking and saw Alexa floating in the air with her head hanging from her shoulders. I was shaking. Not just from fear, but also from the pain.
"Alexa..." I breathed as Thana finally got to me. Throwing my arm over her shoulder, she slowly got me up. We both stumbled while she carefully tried to stand me up.
We started to make our way out of the room but I couldn't take my eyes off of her. She endlessly bobbed up and down as Cyrus stared at her.
I was about to call her when she suddenly screeched that filled the whole room. We all cupped our ears with our hands and hoped for it to end, but it lasted for a few seconds. We were all panicking.
She threw her head up while her body froze from the air and a strong light slowly came from her eyes and slowly engulfed her body.
"Cyrus!" Thana screamed with hope of Cyrus listening to her. "Cyrus we need to go!" She exclaimed but we could both tell that he wasn't going to leave her sister behind. "Cryus!!" She shouted louder which finally caught Cyrus' attention. But his attention wasn't the only thing that she caught.
When Cyrus turned his head towards us, the light has gone off.
Our eyes widened as we stared with horror at the creature in front of us.
Alexa was still floating in the air but her hair was dark blue that flowed endlessly.
"Alexa?" I breathed but instantly regretted it when her eyes looked into mine.
One thing's for sure... That thing isn't her or that she isn't her anymore.
