Chapter Twenty-One:
How to annoy Alice 101"You have to decide, this is important," She screeched across the room, as if the world was ending, "LIFE THREATENING!"
"It's no big of a-" Lucinda tried to reason. Alice had gone into panic mode and William was hunting with everyone else, leaving the two girls home alone.
"Don't you dare finish that sentence," Alice commanded, causing Lucinda to chuckle, only to be cut off by a glare, "How are you not freaking out. Do you not care at all?"
"I do care, " Lucinda retaliated with a fake tone of hurt in her voice, "it's just that you are overreacting."
"I am not overreacting, you are under-reacting, " Alice sighed, she knew that this battle was lost before it even started, "just choose, please."
"I don't really care. Either way, it is going to turn out the same."
"And how precisely is that?"
"With me and Jasper having super hot vampire sex."

Jasper and William arrived back at the house a short while before the rest of the coven did. However, the happiness of a fresh hunt was short lived as they were greeted by Alice screeching at Lucinda, who seemed relatively calm in her brief responses.
Sharing a quick glance if worry, the boys speeded upstairs to see what the commotion was about. The sight they were presented with was vastly different to what they were expecting.
Instead of glass shattered and vases smashed, the room seemed exactly the same as it was before, except one key detail. Red was all over the room. On the sofas, the side tables, television units. It even seemed to leak through the floorboards.
Red, the colour of anger, pain, horror. The colour you see when everything is going against you. The colour of a lover cheating. The colour of the strongest emotions. And above all, red, the thing strung all over the room, the thing that separates death from live, human from vampire, the colour of fresh blood was draped everywhere.
William was horrified and Jasper just as much. How could a few hours of Lucinda and Alice alone together cause this much devastation. The silence was sliced by the levitator's chuckle.
"Can you see why I don't talk about wedding planning with Alice now, " Lucinda said, gesturing to the hundreds, if not thousands, of varying shades of red swatches of material for the next wedding in the family.
"Jasper" Alice said, drawing his name out in a pleading way, "please get her to choose."
As soon as Alice said that, Edward barged in, walking up to Lucinda, "Come on, we are going to out."
"Wait what?" she replied, but getting no response as Edward had already begun to walk to his Volvo, leaving Lucinda to follow.

Spearing down the roads to Port Angeles, Lucinda could feel the tension rolling off of Edward in waves, getting stronger each time. As the minutes started to tick on, the buildings turned from wear houses to shops and eventually mainstream businesses signalling their arrival in the city.
Swerving into a carpark, it finally became obvious to Lucinda as to why they had come here: Isabella was in need. Edward must have sensed her leaving Forks. And for once, his stalker-like tenancies had paid off.
Hurrying out of the car, Edward dealt with the drunkards, showing them his golden eyes in a pursuit to divert them from his mate whilst Lucinda guided Bella to the passenger side of the car, checking her for any injuries, big or small.
"Are you okay?"
"Y-yeah'" Bella stuttered out, trying to work out how the two Cullens arrived ever so quickly.
As soon as they arrived, they had left, only this time, Bella had been with them. Edward had reached.for.the gear stick, accidently grazing the human's hand with his own, showing his unnatural coldness to her. Silence filled the car as the restaurant where Bella was meant to meet her friends came into view. The car pulled out front, parallel parked, and all three stepped outside.
"Jess, Ang!" Bella called to her friends who were walking out of the establishment and towards a car. They both walked over to Bella, surprised to see her here.
"We thought something happened to you, but we got hungry and ate. Hope you don't mind." Jess said, a little guiltily.
"Oh, no. Not at all." Bella replied. Angela looked behind her friend to see the two Cullens. Bella caught her gaze and restarted speaking, "Edward and Lucinda found me walking here and give me a ride."
"And as you didn't wait to eat Jessica, we will make sure she does, " Lucinda said snappily. She didn't like impatience, especially when it comes when a friend may be in peril.
"I guess I will see you at school then, " Bella said, almost dismissing her friends, causing a smirk to grow on both of the vampire's faces.
Edwards walked up to the entrance of the restaurant, opening the door for Bella, and as Lucinda was about to walk in, she received a glare from Edward telling her to back off. Putting her hands up in surrender, she walked down the street, signalling a cab to her rescue.
