Chapter Forty:
Avengers

"Surely, we can do it," Lucinda argued towards Jasper, adamant that it was possible. Her mate, however, was sure that one of them would mess up, with his fiancée being the most able to not do it correctly.

"Darlin', I love you, I really do," he began, choosing his words wisely as to not hurt his feelings because last time he burst her fantasies of this type, she didn't talk to him for hours, "but we cannot do the Avengers fight scene"

"Emmett!" She called, less than a second later he appeared, standing in the doorway of the lovers shared room.

Jasper tried to pull Luci into his side but pulled away. She walked over to her adopted brother and pouted, "Emmett, Jasper doesn't think we could do the Avengers thing."

"Wow," Emmett said, faking being insulted, "that's rude. Anyway, Alice needs you two to pull your fingers out of your arses and help."

Down in the Cullen garden, white flowers were being hung from the trees, giving the illusion of the heavens being opened above the aisle where Bella would walk down tomorrow. Bouquets of flowers lined the space, making it seem that more magical.

The chairs were all white painted wood, with ribbon tied on here and there. In the bride-to-be's opinion, there was too many, but she had lost all motivation to argue with Alice on this.

Overall, the Cullens had been impressed with Bella and her perseverance in restraining Alice and she had done a great job as every time Alice tried something extravagant (or even suggested it) she threatened her by saying "Okay that's it! We'll just go to Vegas to get married!" Alice fell for it every time.

The Cullen's, at this very moment in time, were bringing in the hang carved wood chunks to decorate the space. All except Alice and Edward, the latter of which was just watching.

Alice and Bella watched as their family constructed the most important day of the human's mortal life as she tried to wear heels. The shoes made a sound nails on a chalkboard seem appealing.

"You just have to break them in," Alice offered, although she was lying.

"I have been, for three days-" Bella argued, and was going to continue but cut off by a car turning onto the gravel path from the main road.

"Ah, that will be your wedding gift. I am sure you will like this one. But for now, go home and get some beauty rest" Alice ordered as the car door opened and closed. She hugged Bella and went onto greet the mystery guest.

Slipping on her sneakers, Bella began the short walk to her 'before car' which she had learned that within the last few days was missile proof. Lucinda had a good laugh at Bella's dismay at this. Once Alice left to greet the visitors, the rest of the coven slowed down, feeling less pressured already.

"Stop slacking!" The psychic yelled from inside the house.
