Chapter Forty-Two:
Nicholas

"A bit small, isn't it?" Jessica bitched as she looked down onto the wedding decorations she could never afford. Wanting to aggravate the poor girl, Lucinda walked over with Andi to talk to her.

"Hi Josie," Luci said with a tone of over-sweetness, "this is my best friend Andi. Andi meet Jackie, Jackie meet Andi,"

"It's Jessica." The human snapped back.

"Hi Jolene," Andi said, going along with Lucinda's teasing, "you don't think the cake is too much, I decorated it myself."

"Oh no. It's just enough," Jessica lied, "isn't in Angela?"

"Oh yeah. It's great."

"Anyway, it was great to see you Jocelyn, Angela." Lucinda said as she began to walk off, Andi trailing behind her. As soon as they stepped awau they heard Jessica mutter something about them remembering Angela's name.

As they rounded the corner to head inside, Lucinda had stricken up a long over due conversation, "Did it work?"

"Yes. It's possible."

The last time Lucinda and Nadine spoke was over Skype a few weeks prior when Luci passed on the invite to the Volturi Queen. The Queen had told the Texan of her gift (or curse if you ask Nadine on a bad day) of talking to the dead and how she has Nicholas in her ear 24/7. The younger one of the two asked about summoning spirits, giving the elder one a goal to complete.

"So can I meet the elusive Nicholas then?" Luci asked, and instead of getting a verbal answer, Andi just sighed, clicking her fingers and started repeating and good Viking chang as purple specks appeared.

The purple dust was talking the silhouette of a man, at least 6"2 and very muscular. As the form developed more, Andi's eyes rolled into the back of her head as she stumbled in her spot.

Nadine stopped chanting, allowing the specks to disappear. She would have continued of her body could keep up with it.

"I think it's a life for a life," Andi commented once she had some strength back.

Luci looked at her new found bestie with pity, she didn't want Andi making the same mistakes as she did. This fear caused the younger girl to snap: "Don't try to find out!"

Flowers were chucked from the crowd of the happy couples friends, family and peers as they descended from the house to the car ready for their honeymoon.

An array of 'Good luck' and 'Have fun!'s were heard as Bella and Edward walked past. Cheering and a few wolf whistles were not unknown (the whistles were from Emmett but everyone ignored him.)

"Thank you for having me Carlisle," Nadine had said after the guests had left, leaving the Volturi Queen and the Cullen's alone at the coven's home.

"Not a problem," Carlisle said, taking a unnecessary breath before continuing, "You did, however, say you were going to finish your story."

"Ah yes, so I did. We need to go back to the time of the Battle of Hastings."
