Woodland regrets

Lucinda walked out of the room, holding her mate's hand, therefore pulling him in tow with her. He didn't question it when she walked into the forest.

    "That story made me think, Jay," she said, looking into the trees for any sign of life.

    "What about?"

    "About how I have always forced us apart, and never apologized for it properly. It's always been me starting to apologize then you cutting me off, telling me to leave it."

    "Apologies are not our thing."

    "They should be, " she said, finally casting her gaze to meets his. She looked at him and absorbed every detail of his face.

    It made her wonder why Jasper stuck with her over the years. She didn't mention her thoughts aloud though as all she wanted to do was to be held by him. Luckily, Jasper had the same idea. So he pulled her closer and began a small waltz with her.

A giggle escaped her lips as Jasper spun her under his arm, making her feel like a princess. However, she didn't look like a princess by the time Jasper had finished spinning her around the woods as it was about dusk when they finally stopped.

"So, who was the friend you saw earlier?" Jasper asked as the thought had lingered in his head for a while, it was bothering him slightly.

    "Don't worry about it, they left a while ago," Lucinda responsed, trying to diffuse the conversation as she dragged him deeper into the forest.

    However, Jasper was stronger than his partner and smarter than her when it came to changing topics. He knew her inside out.

    "Who? You owe me that much,"

   "What do I owe you,Jaz?"

    "Piece of mind? Eternal love? Your hand in marriage?"

    "Okay," Lucinda started, stalling her response from the last question, "It was Garrett. You already have that."

    Jasper took a deep breath before stopping Lucinda from walking further into the woodland.

    "Miss Lucinda Hill. No matter how many times you leave me, I will wait your return as you are my everything so will you accept my wedding proposal, again?"

    "After everything, why would you want to marry me?"
