It had been a normal day. I had taken a week off as some family issues rose up and had called to me.
After arriving at school, it had really been normal. Nothing much had changed. I had not felt anything different, nothing looked altered but something about the strange spring chill at the school made my palms sweaty and my body light as if gravity had become weaker.
➰➰➰
But that had only been the beginning.
It was two days later, my mind boiled over at the changes that was in the wind.
➰➰➰
Every step I took, throughout school, I kept hearing things. Things that couldn't be true.
One was surely just a jealous girl. "I heard she's dating Taehyung now."
"I hear that she's living with him."
"I heard that they've been having sex all over the place, even in public!" The girls gasped.
"That can't be true."
It went on.
"Can't believe the whore was able to catch Taehyung. Ugh, they're dating." The girl had unnatural electric blue hair. "How did he fall for her?"
"So lucky...how did she do it?"
"Even staff and professors were, "I hear she's dating Taehyung."
I pushed my feet to continue moving.
"She's not even that pretty?"
"It has to be true though...it was posted officially on line. And on his profile, it says he's taken." The girl sobbed, sincerely sad at that.
That had only been some of the many murmurs...
"Look, poor him..."
"I hear he got dumped for a Taehyung."
"You know, I don't blame her. This is Taehyung we are talking about."
"Poor Mark."
"He's super nice right?"
"What's the point of being nice, when you get your girl stolen by someone richer?"
➰➰➰
I couldn't help my feet that were now running to get to the parking garage.
It had gotten too much, the eyes and the chattering. It was too annoying.
I slammed my fists on the hood of my silver car. The thoughts that came from all the whispers from earlier this week until this Friday was deafening. Whispers that felt and was heard as if they were screams.
At first I had thought I had misheard it, that there was another girl named Mia, or that they were just saying things out of spite because the star of the school was preoccupied. But soon after the second day, I knew there was something wrong, very wrong. It was not just rumors and even if they were just rumors, there was something underneath it to have caused it.
It was worse since Mia had began avoiding me. At first I had lied to myself, hypnotizing myself that it was just rumors. That what she had told me at the park had been a dream—nothing more than a nightmare or a really bad joke.
Mia...what the hell is going on?
I didn't want to go to Mia and ask her personally. Because there was the if...what I thought was happening was true, then I would be heartbroken.
