Autumn 22

"Oh ayan na pala si Richard. Halika, sabayan mo na kaming kumain." Mathilde said gesturing him to come.

"Salamat po, Mama." He said in very shallow voice.

"Bakit ganyan ang itsura mo? Para kang ginahasa." His father in law joked.

He smiled a bit, "Yung anak nyo po ata ginahasa ako kagabi." He joked back.

"Naku, kayo talaga! May bata dito, kung ano-ano sinasabi nyo. Kumain na tayo, si Rachel ba?" Mathilde cut off.

"Stephen, anak. Can you call Tita Rachel upstairs?" He asked in his child.

Stephen is a bit shock.

"Okay po Dad." He smiled shyly.

The three of them look at each other.

He stood up and go upstairs.

He's so nervous to twitched the doorknob but also excited? He don't know what he must feel.

He counted 1, 2, 3 before opening the door.

And there he saw her sitting in front of her vanity mirror.

Before, he could actually speak Rachel glance made his tongue twirled in nervousness.

"Do you know how to knock?" She asked calmly.

"A--aa, I know po, Tita. So---rry po." He bowed his head.

"Kakain na daw po tayo."

"Sige, susunod na ako."

And there he closed the door and tears flickered in his eyes.

And he just wiped it right away.

He went back to his seat and smile widely as if nothing happened.

"Ano? Gising na ba sya, Apo?" Robert asked.

"Opo, Lolo. Susunod na daw po si Tita." And he grab one cookie again.

"Mabuti naman kung ganon, alas nuebe na rin kasi." Richard said.

After a few minutes they see Rachel in her working attire?

"Where are you going? Saturday ngayon." Richard asked abruptly.

"I need to attend prior meeting sa kumpanya. Ma, Pa enjoy your stay here. Okay? Bye." And there she went out of the house.

But Richard followed her in the garage.

"Rachel, what's the problem?"

"Madami. Gusto mong isa-isahin ko sa'yo? Maybe some other time pag hindi na ako busy."

"Pwede ba Rachel? Akala ko ba mag-uumpisa tayo ulit?"

"Ang sabi ko sa'yo. Til di pa naaayos ang lahat di muna tayo magsasama."

"Ano bang dapat ayusin? Mukhang tahimik naman na si Simon. Hindi na sya nanggugulo sa atin."

"Akala mo lang yun."

"Alam mo, hindi ko alam kung ginagamit mo na lang yang reason na yan para di bumalik sa akin e. Bakit? Okay na ulit kayo ng William na yon? O baka naman nagkakamabutihan na kayo nung Atty. Sy na yon?" He just can't understand it anymore. But also, til now Rachel didn't know about the woman who threatened him before. But it's quite fine now, he didn't receive any threats and nothing happened bad to Rachel and Stephen, exactly 3 months now. After that conversation, he admittedly nervous on what the woman capable of doing but now he's quite feeling comfortable having Stephen and Rachel closer to him.
