Alex breathed in, lookimh up at his brand new school. It was an old school. All the windows were tinted and the building itself was made of brick that looked quite dirty. The kids walking in and out of the school didn't seem to mind. They were wearing uniforms, in fact.

Alex wasn't. He groaned and turned back behind him. However, the car that had driven him to school was far gone. The man driving the car was his foster parent. Alex didn't really care much for him and he knew that after a week or two, neither would the man. He seemed nice enough at the moment though.

But the fact that Alex wasn't wearing a uniform wasn't a large deal. Alex had a plan to get expelled anyway.

Ignoring the thoughts that screamed at Alex to not go in, he went in. Inside, the school smelled of a flowe garden. It was a smell you wouldn't expect in an old school, but hey, don't judge a book by its cover.

As other students passed by Alex, they snickered to each other. They were laughing at Alex because he wasn't wearimg a uniform; a concept Alex did not understand. He didn't care, anyway. People always laughed at him at any school he went to all for various reasons.

Other students passed by him. One group of two accidently bumped into him. They didn't say sorry. Alex examined them. One had on a magenta jacket with black jeans. His hair was the definition of perfection. The other had a gray coat on with gray pants. Very gray. His hair was rather the opposite of his friend's and was normal brown hair.

As they passed by, Alex felt something weird moving on his hand. He looked down and realized... his ring was vibrating. It only vibrated when your soulmate had been within three feet of you. One of those boys.

To be honest, Alex had forgotten about the ring. He couldn't take it off. No one could ever take their rings off. Everyone had a soulmate, boy or girl. He had forgotten.

Until now.

Who were those boys?

Alex was quiet as he walked into the first class he had. However, his looks were deceiving. Inside, he was freaking out. His heart was pounding faster than ever and his breath wanted to come out quicker (he didn't let it). Alex had just meet- seen - his soulmate! Who wouldn't be excited?

Once he reached the first empty seats, Alex looked down at his hands. They were dirty and dry blood came out from underneath his fingernails. Alex had the most unattractive hands. They were also very cold, but that didn't matter. He had no one to hold. No one.

"Hello," A booming voice interrupted Alex's thoughts, "You must be Alexander." The source of the voice looked to him with curious eyes and a hand motion saying 'stand up.'

Alex stood.

"That's me, sir."

"Hmm... Where is your uniform?"

"I'm not wearing it, sir." Alex thought that was pretty obvious.

"Right. Anyone want to take Alexander to the office for a uniform?"

Alex looked around. No one raised their hands.

"Thomas..." Alex looked at the voice's eyes and followed them to... his soulmate. He was hunched over his desk, obviously on his phone. Alex shivered. Thomas looked up.

"Yes, sir?" His voice was soft, comforting, and firm all at the same time. It was perfect, just like his hair.

"Take him to the voice."

"Yes, sir."

Thomas stood and walked over to Alex. He put his hand out for Alex to take. Alex did. The class watched curiously. They walked out hand-in-hand, Alex blushing.

As soon as the door closed behind them, Alex felt his ring vibrate. Since his hand was still in Thomas's, he could feel Thomas's doing the same.

"Our rings." Thomas commented as if the ordeal was nothing.

"Y-Yeah." Alex's face turned more red than ever before.

"We're soulmates." Thomas stopped and looked at Alex. Alex stopped and looked up too.

"You're pretty cute." Thomas muttered.

"So are you." Alex responded, and pulled Thomas into a kiss.
