"This is going to be a living hell." Peggy mutters to herself, sliding into the seat next to Lafayette. Thomas reacts quickly, turning around in his seat to face Peggy Schuyler, the youngest sister and probably the most relatable as well. At his sudden movement, my head was thrown off his shoulder.

"I'll have you know Lafayette is a great airplane seat partner! He is also my cousin," Thomas states. I whine, pulling him back to look at me. He coos, "Aw, what's wrong?"

I ignore his question, pushing Thomas back against his seat and laying my head on his shoulder.

"Alexander?" He says after a few moments.

"Yes?" I answer softly.

Thomas pulls my hands into his hands and looks me in the eyes. Our foreheads hit each other and I feel bad.

"Why are you shaking?" He whispers gently. I turn away immediately, not wanting to answer. I try to lower down my shaking levels, but it seems impossible. I'm just so scared and fearful, but I don't want Thomas to know. I want him to be really proud of-

"Alex?" Thomas shakes me. I turn around, my face a crimson color.

"Mm?"

"Is this your first time on a plane ride?"

I look away immediately, sighing. I keep shaking. The airline pilot makes an announcement, but I filter it out. I really just want to be asleep when this stupid airline begins to move.

"Yes." I answer Thomas a full minute later.

As if on que, the airplane begins to move. Babies quiet down a little bit, gaggling at the wonder and surprise that the big white thing they were on was moving. I subconsciously move closer to Thomas, letting his arms snake around me.

I start to shake even worse, but his voice calms me down.

"Hey... Sh, sh..." Thomas calms me down like I'm a child, but I continue to let him treat me that way until the plane is in the sky.

I feel like screaming.

Thomas places a hand over my mouth, but I lick it. He pulls away, a disgusted look on his face. We're still going up. I didn't really think it was possible, but I giggle. Even though I'm scared, I giggle at Thomas' face.

He lights up at my giggle, and I bury my face into his chest.

A moment later, the airplane has stopped going up.

"You're okay." Thomas whispers.

I nod.

I'm okay.
