Presentation [JAMILTON]

based on the actions of me freaking out before a presentation and my girlfriend telling me i'm not gonna die. except alex has a stutter here. so--

i'm scared of the neko book and everyone who reads it, i missed this book.

also it's 12 pm and none of my family is up except me bc i had an active shooter nightmare at 8 am

Alex is frowning at the board, chewing his pencil. In the front of the class, Maria Reynolds presents her project. I haven't been paying attention to any of the presentations though, just Alex. His concentrated face makes me nervous for no reason.

I tap his shoulder as Maria speaks.

Alex looks at me, eyes full of worry. It'll be his turn to present after two more people and he's shaking.

"You okay?" I whisper. I don't know why I always have to act this, even when it's obvious Alexander isn't doing okay at all. In fact, he looks like he wants to go back to our dorm and die. So do I, except I don't have as big a fear of public speaking as he does.

"N-N-No." He whispers back to me as if it't obvious. It is. I look at his pencil, which has practically been eaten by him, and then back at Maria. She's almost done with her presentation, I can tell she's wrapping it up. People are getting ready to clap.

"You'll do fine, okay?" I say to him, kissing his cheek lightly. The guy sitting next to me glares at us. I don't respond, instead continuing to help Alex.

"P-People will l-l-laugh a-at me." Alex whimpers, reaching for my hand. We entwine our fingers as Maria finishes and people began to clap. Neither of us clap, but I gave Maria a thumbs-up as she walks back to her seat next to James Reynolds.

"No." I hold him more tightly as the next student goes up; Lafayette.

"Y-Yes." He answers, almost immediately. His hands are so sweaty, but I keep holding him.

"No." I answer again, ad if it's the only thing I can say.

"Y-Yes!" He whisper-yells back, "C-Can I g-go back to the d-d-dorm?"

I look at him with all seriousness and Lafayette begins to talk.

"Then you won't get a grade on your presentation."

"Ob-Obviously! Let's g-go back!" And before I can stop him, Alex is packing up all of his stuff and rushing out the doors.
