Prom [JAMILTON] [PART ONE]

"Mr. Jefferson? Is there something you want to add?" Mr. Washington asks. I look up, shooked. I was daydreaming about asking my boyfriend to prom. I knew he wanted me to, but I wasn't quite sure how I was going to do it. I had a chesp ring from Target and a small box I found in my closet but I still wasn't sure what to say.

"Thomas?!" Someone whisper-yelled and nudged me. I looked over and saw James Madison, my close friend. Oh yeah, Mr. Washington.

"Oh! Sorry. No, sir." I respond to Mr. Washington. The class doesn't laugh like they usually do, meaning something is probably off or the lesson is really boring and no one is actually paying attention. When I look up at the board and see letters, I decide it is boring. This is math class, not English.

"Alright, Jefferson." Mr. Washington nods and goes back to teaching. I go back to daydreaming.

"Alex?" I whisper, smiling. We're in the middle of the hallway and everyone is staring at us. I'm in a proposal position, but with a cheap ring and box.

"Yes?" He asks, smiling too. His smile lights up my world. He lights up my world.

"Will you make me the happiest... student at Westerburg High and go to the prom with me?"

"No, of course-"

Worst daydream ever.

"Class dismissed." I hear. It's coming from Mr. Washington, but my mind is so far from paying attention it sounds like an echo coming from a million worlds away.

Slowly, I stand up, feeling the small box in my pocket. Alex and I always pass each other in the hallways at this time. He would be there. I would be there... We would be-

"Thomas!" Someone pushed me forward. I looked back. James, "Stop daydreaming about your boyfriend..."

"How do you know this is about Alex?" I ask.

"Because you keep touching your pocket and there's a box in it... You're either going to marry him or ask him to the prom."

"Shut up!" I scream, embarrassed.

"Shh." Mr. Washington says. Everyone is already out of the classroom and I stomp out, away from James. Now, where is Alex..?

from now on, this book will have slowwww updates, i guess. i mean, i am evacuated right now so maybe i'll do more for the next few days, but slowwww updates.
