Acorss the street that Alex lived on, a demon bar sat. Alex could see all the demons from his window and he loved it. There was one demon who Alex liked especially. He came every Friday. He was built perfectly and in his presence, Alex could see people laughing at his jokes. From above, his hair was as fluffy as a sheep's fur and when he looked up, Alex could see his dark brown eyes. Everything about him was charming and he loved it.

Alex couldn't go to the demon bar.

He was an angel. But he didn't feel like one. Unlike other angels, Alex hated his wings and had feelings to do terrible things all the time. He felt more connected to a demon he had never talked to then he did to any of his angel friends. Demons wouldn't accept him coming into their bar. Angels didn't even have bars. Alex had never sipped one sip of any alcoholic beverage because of this.

But today, Alex was feeling different.

His white angel wings were moving faster than usual, his writing was better than usual, and he felt better in general. Alex had the courage today to go down to the demon bar and talk to the demon he loved.

One must have a lot of confidence to go be with the other kind. The other kind, whether your an angel or demon, is vicious and harsh. The other kind will throw you in jail if you go onto amything that belongs to them.

Angels and demons have always been at war with each other. So Alex, going downstairs was quite dangerous. He needed a friend.

John Laurens.

John was in his apartment, catching up on a TV show only demons watched. If anyone caught him, he would be arrested and most likely disowned by his family. John was just like Alex, but he never told him. Alex was just like John, but never told him. Alex did know John was just like him, but John was oblivious to Alex's feelings.

Alex knocked on the door to John's apartment, causing him to jump and turn off the TV very fast.

"Come in." John called. Alex had a spare key.

Alex walked into John's living room, where John lay on the couch.

"Wanna go the demon bar across the street?" Alex asked directly, but then decided not to ask him. He grabbed John and pulled him to the door, rephrasing himself, "You're going to the demon bar with me acorss the street."

John didn't say anything, just looked at Alex with a look of surprise.

The demon bar was loud and noisy. Alex knew exactly where to go. He let go of John's hand, leaving the boy by himself and ran in. The demons around him noticed him and began yelling. One even threw himself at Alex. Alex yelped and ran to the edge of the bar, where the demon he watched was.

For a moment, Alex got to observe the demon he watched. He was drinking and talking to a man who was also a demon (of course).

When that moment ended, someone yelled.

"There's an angel in here!" It was loud enough for the entire bar to here and it did not take long for the drunk people to find Alex in the corner, silently watching a demon.

They threw stuff at him and punched him. Alex ignored the hits, but let himself fall to the ground. This way, they could kick him easily. Alex knew that. The demon he watched could've been in the crowd, but Alex couldn't tell. So many people were hitting him that he didn't know. Someone blocked his vision of the demon before he had this thought and had punched him twice.

Alex was in pain.

"Stop!" A voice from the end of the bar, the opposite side, yelled. Everyone stopped to turn and see the source the voice came from.

The demon Alex watched.

The other drunk demons laughed and began to hit him again.

The demon spoke again but was this time closer to Alex.

"I said stop!" He called again and again the demons stopped. The demon walked up to Alex, pushing his way through the crowd, "He has an evil look in his eyes."

The other demons looked in Alex's eyes. A few sighed and walked away, sad to be no longer hurting anyone. People began to walk away, getting bored of Alex. The demon and Alex remained the only ones left in the corner of the bar. Alex wondered where John was.

He heard a happy yelling sound. It was John. He was already drunk.

"Are you okay?" Alex looked up at the demon and then immediately looked away.

"Yeah. I'm o-okay." He put his hand to his lower lip and wiped it. When he brought his finger back to examine it, blood was on it.

"I'm Thomas." The demon said rather flatly. He (Thomas) stood up and held out his hand, waiting for Alex to take it.

Alex did.

"I'm Alex." Alex was still not looking at Thomas. Obviously, Thomas wanted him to. He put his thumb on Alex's lower lips and wiped the rest of the blood out. Alex blushed deeply.

"Hmm... Alex," Thomas's voice trailed off before coming back, "Cute."

"T-Thank you."

"You're an angel, right?"

"Yeah."

"Meet me here again next week. I have to go."

Alex smiled at Thomas's back as he walked away.

He had meet his demon.
