Alex pulled on the suit, groaning a little. Today he was going to be married to Eliza Schuyler, a rich girl from a different village. He didn't even want to wear a suit, he'd rather wear a dress. He didn't even like Eliza, it was a forced marriage. Eliza was nice and very sweet, but Alex knew they were the worst possible couple of all. Eliza didn't love him either, that was clear. It was probably one of the most forced marriages Alex had ever witnessed, and it was his own.

"Mr. Hamilton?" Someone knocked on the door. In Alex's mind, it was Thomas. It was Thomas, coming to tell him that they were going to marry instead... But, no. When Alex opened the door, it was Eliza's servant.

"Yes?" Alex asked, sighing heavily.

"The wedding will take place in two hours. Please, come downstairs with me."

"I will come downstairs when I feel like it..." Alex mumbled, shutting the door in the man's face. After hearing his footsteps walk away, he went on his knees and pulled out a small box from under his bed. When he opened it, he smiled.

Dear Lexi,

I hear you are to be married to Eliza Schuyler. I assume it's arranged, as you have always said you would marry me if you could. I am flattered by those statements and just know that I'll always love you. Because I know you will always love me.

Sincerely,
Me

The first few letters they had signed before Alex decided it was better for no one to know who was sending the letters if they ever found out. They also wouldn't know it was a boy that way.

Standing up, Alex looked out the window and saw Thomas sitting on the ledge of a water fountain outside. He stared at him, hoping he would see. And he did. Alex smiled and waved, slightly blushing. No other citizens were around except Thomas and him. No one wanted to be near the castle, especially on wedding day.

Slowly, Alex pulled himself away from the window, holding up a finger. The finger meant for Thomas to stay there and wait.

Once Alex was away from the window, he pulled out a piece of paper and wrote a note on it.

Dearest, You

I love you. I will always love you. Never, never, never think otherwise. Ms. Schuyler is just a bump in our love. But together, we can get over it. I'll help you get over it. I will pull you up that bump and down again, because I want you to know I love you.

Sincerely,
Me

He threw the paper out the window and it landed ten feet from Thomas. Thomas stood up and grabbed the note off the ground, taking seconds to read it before looking up.

"I love you, too." He screamed. The wind carried it to Alex's ears. Alex smiled and pulled away from the window, shutting it.

He walked towards the door and swung it open.

It was time for the marriage.
