thinking of making this a book. ideas & thoughts? if i do, it'll probably be done by mid-janauary, and i'd update weekly. i think i only want 12 chapters, so i can fit just a right amount of fluff, but also build a storyline.

Alex wakes me up in the middle of the night by clawing at my chest and rapidly hitting my leg with his tail. The abuse doesn't stop until I open one eye and give him a hug. I can tell he's scared by the way he breathes, fast. He's also shaking a bit.
"Alex?" I mutter, "Is everything okay?"
He purrs, shaking his head lightly and curling into my body.
"What happened?" I ask him softly, rubbing his back, "Nightmare?"
Alex nods.
"Oh," I can immediately grasp an idea of what the nightmare is about, "Francis?"
I didn't realize saying that name was a mistake until Alex hops up, looking around frantically. His purr is gone, he's shaking again, and his ears twitch. He looks at me, talking, "Is Fr-Francis here?"
Oh.
I frantically get up, pulling Alex close, "No, sweetheart, Francis isn't here. He never will be, because I'm here to protect you. I won't let him get near you or your adorable face."
Alex nods shakingly, laying his head on my shoulder.
"Goodnight?" I ask.
"Good-Goodnight."
