The princess left the castle, crossed the extensive gardens and left without being seen. She wore a dark cloak like the night to cover up the clothes she wore and the purse with her belongings. She vaguely remembered how to walk the narrow alleys of the village, but her heart was beating loudly whenever any of the guards passed by. She started sneaking around the alleys so they wouldn't see her, but it were dirty and stinky. How could such places exists? It's so different from the castle...She let her feet lead her to the beach. The sand didn't look as bright as in her dreams, but maybe it was the cloudy weather. The waters seemed more agitated than she'd imagined, so she'd given up trying to swim. She didn't know how to swim very well anyway. She took off her sneakers and let her feet feel the cold sand. A smile came to her lips. She closed her eyes, opening her arms and let the tide blow through her skin and shake her hair.
She left her cloak and purse rolled together with her sneakers and resolved to wet her feet at the edge of the water. However... A ragged man approached her things and began to turn them around, he found the purse, and when he was about to run off with it, the princess saw him. "Hey! This is mine!!" She screamed and ran toward him, but the man was already running away. She ended up leaving the cloak and sneakers behind and ran desperately behind the thief. "This man stole my purse!" But no one around seemed to care what she said.
No guard appeared. On the docks, the guards didn't represent any security, the pirates and the sailors were the ones who commanded them, but they only protected those they knew who could pay for that protection. "Please! Help!" But they continued to stare at the chase without doing anything. She took a deep breath. She couldn't reach him like that. The long dress was a mess. As she ran, the dress curled up on a loose board from the wall and ripped, she took advantage of that tear to finish the job and leave the clothes shorter. Now... She just needed to be smarter than the thief...
