"I don't want it! I already said no!" Haruka was in another long discussion with her mother, who insisted on having another ball to find a suitable husband for her daughter. "Mommy, please... I can handle myself! I don't need to get married again!"
The truth was that Haruka had already married once, but when she found out that her husband was cheating on her and that he only wanted her because of her family's money, her heart was broken and she decided that from now on she would do everything by herself. She would seek happiness and take care of the family business on her own, without needing a man for that. After all, men were all the same...
"They just want money and a pretty face, Mom." She sighs and heads out onto the porch, watching the night outside. But her mother was insistent and ends up convincing her daughter to do one last ball, because she was sure that in this one her daughter would find the right person. "Not all men are bad, daughter..." She caresses the girl's face with a kind look. "You may end up being surprised..." But the young girl interrupts her.
"A masquerade ball. Let's have a masquerade ball." The girl insisted with a serious expression on her face. "Nobody will see anyone's beauty and they won't know who the other person is. Thus, they will not judge by beauty or wealth." With a tired sigh, the girl's mother accepted her request. She was just like her father. He also wanted to judge people by what was inside their hearts... Sadly he died too young to fulfill his dreams completely.
