Haruka had finished helping with lunch and was leaving the kitchen to continue with her chores when someone grabbed her wrist gently, pulling her back and making her turn around. "Huh ?! Oh! Sir..." But she was interrupted by him. "Call me Ren, please. Without the treatment pronouns before." He said with a gentle smile.
She studied the expression on his face curiously, but decided to just nod. "Okay, Ren..." His name sounded strange on her lips, saying it for the first time. "Do you need something?" She asked trying to sound gentle and not confused as she really was.
"Yes. I am giving you the rest of the day off... on the condition that you accompany me to a picnic in the garden." Haruka couldn't believe what she was hearing. "No, thank you. I have many things to do. And... This is a kind of blackmail, Sir." She made sure to add the word 'Sir' at the end to annoy him.
"Wait!" He called to her again when she was already in the middle of the corridor and hurried to catch up with her. "Excuse me. You're right. But even if you don't want to spend the day with me, I'll still give you the day off." He said with a sigh. Haruka stopped walking, but did not turn to look at him. She was shocked by his apology.
