She would have to betray Professor Tokki's confidence to save Ai. That night, while everyone was going home, she offered to close the lab and pack everything up. When she was alone, she reproached the android so he could escape. She put in his system the maps of the laboratory and how to avoid the guards. She deactivated his GPS and broke the locator chip.
But the professor was not foolish and mistrusted the girl's real intentions. "So I was right..." His voice made Haru jump in fright. "P-Professor...!" Her heart was racing. She had been caught in the act. But... The professor smiled. Why?
"I will not make you give up. But you can't stay here any longer. You know that, don't you?" Haru just nodded. She had made her decision. "You can take the android. Protect him and you will be protected by him. Continue the research, but take it another way. Show him what feelings are. How to love people... Just as he learned to love you."
Haru breathed a sigh of relief, for the first time in these 3 years that she served the professor, she hugged him. Then she picked up some things, prepared to run away with Ai, and fetched him into the laboratory. Tokki would invent some history and defend them, but in return she would keep in touch with him about how they were advancing their research on the feelings of the androids.
