•Ashley's POV•
"Caroline?" I say to the women that stands in front of me.Her face shows shock and happiness and she immediately comes up to me and hugs me. I push her off.
"What do you want?" I ask her rudely.
"Ashley." My dad warns.
"I heard about you being taken and I came as soon as I could." She tells me.
"I've been taken for 3 weeks." I tell her.
"Oh my gosh. Why didn't you call me Sergio?" She tells my dad.
"Beca-"
"Because it's none of your business." I cut him off.
"Why not?" She asks.
I'm about to talk when I feel someone pull my arm. I look back and see my dad giving me pleading eyes. I pull my arm back and I look back at my mom.
"It hasn't been your business since the day you decided to give up custody of me." I tell her.
She looks down.
"Now, I want you out of this house and I never want to see you again. Do you understand?" I say.
She's about to say something when I cut her off.
"Me and Shawn are going up to my room. Goodnight everyone." I say as I grab Shawn's arm and pull him with me.
We go upstairs and into my room. I let him go and slam the door. I didn't realize I was gripping so hard until I looked at Shawn rubbing his wrist. My face changed from anger to worry.
"Oh my gosh. I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. Are you ok?" I ask him.
He nods.
"Yea. I'm fine. Don't worry." He says.
I nod and walk towards my bed. I turn and fall back.
"So, I'm guessing that lady down there is your mom." He speaks up.
"That's Caroline and she's not my mom." I tell him.
"What do you mean?" He asks.
I sigh.
"It's a really long story. Just know that she was a drug addict that didn't know how to take care of her own daughter." I tell him.
I look over at him and see him nodding. Suddenly, there's a knock at my door.
"Come in." I yell.
The door opens and Dylan steps in with clothes in his hands.
"I thought Shawn would want some extra clothes. Wouldn't want him sleeping in his pants." He says.
Shawn stands up and grabs the clothes from Dylan.
"Thank you." He tells Dylan.
Dylan nods. He looks over at me.
"Shawn, do you mind using the guest restroom? I need to talk to Ashley." He says without taking his eyes off me.
I roll my eyes and look at the ceiling.
"Uh yea sure. Can you tell me where that is?" Shawn asks.
I hear footsteps go to the door. A few seconds later, I hear the door close and footsteps coming towards my bed. Then, I feel the bed sink.
"Mom is staying over for a couple days." He says.
I shoot up and look at him.
"What!" I yell.
"Mom's staying." He repeats.
"No! I don't want to be under the same roof as her." I say.
"Dad didn't want her to waste money on a hotel so he offered her to stay. Come on, Ashley. That's our mom." He says.
"That's your mom. I only know her as Caroline." I tell him.
"I get that your mad that she gave you up. Trust me, I was mad too but you don't see me calling her by her name and talking back to her." He tells me.
"You don't understand, Dylan." I say as I lay back down on the bed and look at the ceiling.
"No, I don't think I do. So, why don't you explain it to me." He says.
I start to have flashbacks and old memories. A tear falls as I think about that day.
"It's late." Is all I say.
It's silent then I hear him sigh deeply and feel the bed rise. I hear footsteps walk to the door and then it opens and closes. A few minutes later, the door opens and closes again.
"Ashley." He says.
I sit up and see Shawn.
"Let's go to sleep. I need rest and I can see that you also need it." I tell him.
He grins. He's about to set up a bed on the floor when I stand up and stop him.
"You can sleep on my bed." I tell him.
"But your dad -"
"He won't mind." I cut him off.
He nods. I grab some pjs and walked into my bathroom. I change, put my hair into a pony tail and walk out. I check the bed to see that Shawn isn't on it. I check on the floor and there he was laying down. I kick his side.
"Get up." I order.
"It's ok. I don't want you getting in trouble." He says.
I scoff.
"Since when have I ever cared about getting in trouble with my dad. It's fine Shawn. He won't mind." I reassure him.
He hesitated but knowing that I won't let him sleep there, he gets up and puts the pillow on the bed. He lays down and I go to turn off the light. Then, I get in bed and cuddle into him. I know. It's weird for me too but for some reason, I feel. . .safe in his arms.
"So are you going to tell me why you have a problem with your mom?" He asks.
I stiffen but relax when I feel him rub my back.
"That story goes along with the one I told you earlier. It's just too long to tell." I say.
"When will you ever tell me?" He asks.
"When I'm comfortable and when I'm ready. Right now. . ." I pause. "I can't tell you." I say.
He nods and tightens his arms around me. I start to think about Caroline.
I hate that she's here. I can't believe she has the nerve of showing up here, worried for me, when she's the one who gave me up. Don't get me wrong, I love my dad but I just had a little hope that my mom cared for me. I guess I was wrong.
My eyes started to feel droopy and I was falling asleep. The last thing I thought about before I fell asleep was:
I will never forgive her for what she let happen. Never.

A/NOh her mom is now in the picture.
I wonder what she did that got her on Ashley's bad side.
Maybe she forgot a birthday?
Hope you enjoyed.
