chapter V: the plan

"I'm here to see Salem" Qrow said to a load of growling Ursa, they huffed before letting us past, I just watched from my brother's shoulder as he walked almost sulkingily through the halls.

"Do you know where you are going?" I asked quietly.

"Yes now shut up otherwise your going to get us caught" he hissed making me let out a disgruntled squwark.

Though my bird ears suddenly picked up on a familiar sound of claws, small, distance but fast and slightly matalic meaning it was definitely Ruby. My brother picked this up aswell be he kept me on the target as we entered a large room with a long table in the middle, and there she was.

And Ruby, who literally just walked straight up to the queen and curled up on her lap, no fuss and no comunication, like it has been done over a hundred times. The queen herself just started to pet the girl and only that, it looked dry. Only one person in the whole room achally reacted to me being on Qrow's shoulder in bird form was Ruby herself. And she looked at me skeptically but she didn't do much of anything.

I watched as Grimm walked past the open door, which I hope is going to stay open all meeting, and as the meeting progressed it did.

I huffed in boredom before figuring that this was as good of a time as ever and flew up into the air and through the open door leaving Qrow to deal with the whole meeting while i gathered the attention of Grimm.

Switching back and forth between human and bird form was tiring but after all I heard this which made me so happy "What on Remnant is going on out there" Salem growled just as I charge well over a hundred Grimm Beowolves Ursa and Many Many others into the room all of them chasing me round in circles while I ran as fast as I could, so fast I probably would outrun Summer... when she's not using her semblance. Qrow was laughing his head off as I promptly took the opportunity to spin kick the Queen of Grimm in the face, which was a interesting exsperance.

"Ruby" I said looking at the small girl who looked up at me fearfully, I really didn't have time for this so I just grabbed onto her and created a portal watching as my brother dived into it as soon as it opened and indercating for me to slide in, closing it soon after, and leaving them to the Grimm tornado that I may or may not have had more then a hand in making.

"Ow~" Ruby whined making me concerned as I watched her as she held her jaw.

"Are you ok? Do you want me to take a look at that?"I asked but I think I made her pause as she looked up at me, it took two seconds for her to realise what happened "OW!"I shouted as she lashed at me scratching my arm as she used it as a distraction to quickly scamper away.

"I told you she has been conditioned to expect pain when she is away from Salem"Qrow sighed unclipping his cape, and quickly catching the small girl in it, I watched as he tightly rapped her in it "we need to isolate her" he said as I nodded agreeing with him dispite the indercations.

"Take her down to the vault, Peach is standing by" Ozpin ordered as Qrow quickly picked the bundle of girl up, we both sprinted into the elevator trying to do this as fast as possible, but it didn't stop Ruby from starting her whimpering, it was painful for me to ignore it, but once we get her into a more friendly and stagmented environment we can hopefully take her out of whatever she's in.

As soon as the elevator doors opened we where met with peache holding open a fabric bag, Qrow got the idea and slowly lowered Ruby into the bag "You see that hall run down there, the door on the right is open, put her in that room and lock the door" Peach said pointing to a turn off.

We nodded taking the now closed bag with a panicky hyperventilating Ruby in side, to the instructed room. It was more of a padded cell then anything else, white four white walls surrounded a white floor, soft glowing lights shon down in the bleek environment, with only one, one way full wall window to look in. But, a fully made bed lay in the corner, no underneath just a thick mattress, along with some familiar bedding, fluffy red coloured blankets, black quilt, and one of Summer's favourite bear skins. I took the bag with my stepdaughter in and set it on the bed, grabbing hold of Qrow's dark red cape and pulling it off the small struggling girl, freeing her from the tight confine but I still kept the fabric bag closed while Peach readied a mild anistetic, I watched as she neared with a needle and rubber gloves.
