chaoter XII: scientific problems

"ugh Ruby your such a taddle tail!" Yang groaned to her sister as Raven forced her along the walk of shame to her bedroom.

"What?" Ruby just asked looking behind herself at her own tail and just looked at her face palming sister confused "but my tail is long and fluffy not a paddle, why would my tail be a paddle?" She asked as I sighed moving to her side and patting her shoulder.

"Yang just ment that you where telling on your sister" I informed looking down at the girl.

"Is my tail a paddle?" She asked as I shook my head, "then why did she say it was?" She asked as I then reached into one of her ears and pulled a ear plug out.

"Because you miss heard her baby" I said passing her the ear plug that she must have forgotten to take out this morning "Is that better?" I asked as she nodded. I really still can't believe that Yang would do such a thing, I mean it's not uncommon for children who grow up with faunas to have misunderstandings every once in a while but that was just too far. "Come on let's go get something to drink and some ice" I said as the twelve year old cheered following me with a wagging tail.

And not one weird paddle shaped one like previously thought.

"Where dose it hurt little one?" The doctor asked as she looked down Ruby's ears, the girl sat there latched onto my side plastered to me as I stroked her shoulder.

"Left one" I just said for her after around two minutes of her just glaring at the woman in pure shock that she would dare speak to her.

The doctor just nodded before she inspected the ear making sure to be very delicate as she went "mild bruising, a small tare, and what we would call a bit of a sore ear, what exactly happened?" The doctor asked looking at me as I helped the girl hold a ice pack to her head.

"Her sister pulled on it" I just said not knowing much more "That's about all I know"

"I was going to say, you two do seem to take care of this one quite well, almost all of the injures that she sustains seem to be coming for that sister of hers" the faunas specialist said making a few note in a book as he then started to do some more checks on the girl "She's very quite today"

"Well she's being quite because she has a bit of a headache" I said stroking her cheek and watching as she requoiled from my touch but she still kept her head slumped against my shoulder/ arm since she wasn't that tall when sitting. "And she thinks her sister's mad at her"

Our doctors just smiled as she finished her other checks "she's fine apart from that ear and head ache, but I'm sure the headache can be solved with a glass of water" the doctor said stroking the girl's hair softly "but I would keep those two separated until Yang learns that picking on her sister is not a good thing"

"I think you may be right" I commented standing from the arm chair I sat on and stretching, these regular check ups where mandatory at the moment, since Ruby is so young and training to be a huntress, but unfortunately it overlapped with the healing posses of her ear. "Well it's nice to know that the system is no longer calling us idiots for training our daughter exstream weapons training and how to disassemble a rifle in two seconds" I said with a smile as I shook the doctor's hand.

"Indeed, young Ruby here is quite well looked after, I'm always surprised when I find a small cut considering how you treat her" she commented making me smile "I might have somthing that could cheer her up" she then sigh rifling through her pocket and retrieving a strawberry lollipop, Ruby then looked at her with a wagging tail and we both chuckled as she became curious to the doctor who she had been pretending  doesn't exist for the last hour "Alright open  up and stick your toung out" the doctor said watching as Ruby followed through giving her a nice view of her top set of sharp white teeth "toung up" the doctor said as she looked over the bottom set aswell before she then gave the girl the lollipop "you've earned it for being a good girl" the doctor said with a smile as she petted the girl's head, making her way her tail as she took the crystallized strawberry treat out of it's packaging and shoved it in her mouth happily. "I think I'm done for today, I'll come round in a few days to check up on that ear but over all she's absolutely fine, a little sore at the joints mind you, probably from all the movement"
