chapter XIX : problems arise

"Shh it's ok" I hushed holding Ruby on my lap, the small girl was crying and whining over her stepmother and girlfriend who both lay unconscious, one of them was mearly asleep from exstream physical exertions and while I knew that Ruby really didn't. The one I was concerned about was my wife, she was the only one in real trouble.

Well a minor concussion from a metal leg falling on her head, worst of all her aura wasn't activated at all.

I just watched my wife as she breathed gently  rubbing the back of my daughter as she sat on my lap "do you want to lay down next to mummy?" I asked as she nodded holding her arms out to the woman as I chuckled rubbing the back of her pyjamas while I layed her down next to her stepmother, the one legged girl whimpered at her stepmother before curling up under her arm.

I looked at them for a few seconds, spearing a look towards Weiss, the girl was rather nice, and she looks after my daughter when nether Yang or I or Raven are around. I can see what Ruby likes about this girl and that makes her as close as family, I smiled at Weiss before returning to my daughter.

"Ruby I'll be back in a second" I said leaning forwards and kissing the side of the girl's head.

"Ok" she said quietly, nuzzling against my cheek as i rubbed back in return, leaving the school infirmary.

"Summer? I would have thought you went home hours ago" Glynda commented walking up to me as I stood getting some snacks from a vending machine.

"Raven got nocked out by Ruby's leg" I sighed as my friend came to my side confused.

"Why would Ruby nock Raven out?" She asked making me confused.

"Ruby didn't nock Raven out, Raven got nocked out by Ruby's leg"

"Yes Ruby kicked her, did she not?"

"What? No Ruby wouldn't kick Raven"

"Then how did Raven get nocked out by Ruby's leg if Ruby didn't kick her?"

"I don't know, Yang just said that Raven got nocked out by Ruby's leg, it probably fell from the rafters when Ruby reformed"

"Oh! The metal one!" Glynda then shouted slapping her forehead as I nodded still confused, just grabbing my chocolate bar "that was not at all clear"

"Sure..." I just said getting another chocolate bar for Ruby "Are you going to come...?Or stay here...? Or..."

"Might aswell" the woman shrugged as I grabbed the second chocolate bar and led her back to the shared infirmary room "miss Schnee! Glynda gasped "What happend to her?"

"She fainted because her body isn't prepared to keep up with Raven" I commented "the nurse just said to let her sleep it off, she'll feel like she's been thrown around by a deathstalker when she wakes, might aswell give her some comfort"

"Ah" Glynda just said nodding her head before she looked to Ruby who's ears where flat and her head was low. "What is it with her?" She asked pointing to my pup

"Not sure" I just commented before walking towards the girl, crouching down next to the bed she sat on "hey" I muttered as she nuzzled against my cheek, i brought my hand close and petted her hair, feeling it slip through my fingers "it'll be ok" I muttered into her ear feeling her arms slip around my neck as she encouraged mine to move around her back, picking her up as I stood, before I went into my back pocket and gave her the chocolate "there you go, don't say I don't spoil you"

Ruby just rubbed her head on the underside of my chin before she struggled to open the packet "help" she whined up at me as I and Glynda chuckled.

"Pass it here" Glynda said softly as Ruby passed her the bar, letting her open it up quickly and swiftly, passing the contents back to the small girl.
