"Your lucky someone noticed it straight after it happened"

"If not she could have turned no later then a week after and there would be no way to go back, she would have had to be emitted"

"That's a relife" the distinctive voice of my stepmother said, I twitched slightly as a hand clasped around my own "my wife would have killed me if I let her daughter get emitted"

"Is she usually so flighty?"

"Now? Yes, she didn't used to be but a mission whent a bit wrong about a year ago makes her so jumpy" my stepmother declared as I felt a weight on my side move "she's a good kid and I've never known her to have so much anger that she did yesterday"

"We don't usually allow pets in here, is there a reason for them?"

"Her training team can't be here so her sister left her cat, my wife is taking over my classes so I can be here with her"

"Just be glad that this is a special case, wolves can be very difficult to keep in a unfamiliar place even if it's for their own good, I can see that your very careing towards her."

"Despite what I think about my daughter's fluffy rat, this little wolf loves it to bits, and I'm not going to make her upset" she said as I shifted a little, my ears trying to go backwards when my head was inflicted with a searing headache.

"Ah she's awake" the male voice then said before coming over as I opened my eyes "can you see?" He asked as I nodded slightly my eyes darting around the white ceiling before my vision was filled with a mess of black, my stepmother smiling at me softly.

"I told you that I would look after you" she sighed as relief covered her face.

I gave her a bright grin reaching up lazily for her, she took hold of my hands and putting one on her cheek "could you hold her still momentarily?" The doctor asked as I gave my mother a worried look

"Hey it's ok, just stay still for a bit" she smiled carefully putting a hand on my forehead as the doctor inspected almost every inch of my body. I growled at him when he brushed up against my tail, but my stepmother scrambled to get me to stop. Fear covered her face, she was ... afraid, of what? I've growled at many people and she's never looked this scared. "Ruby... stop, please not now" she said her calm expression stolen by The underlining and intense Fear that I could see on her face

"Ok..." I sighed moving my tail out of the way, before I felt her lightly run her thumb over my nuckles

"Look... it's kitty" she then smiled placing the cat on my stomach, I giggled reaching for the feline. Before Raven helped me up into a sitting position so I could play with the cat.

"Is she always so protective of her tail?" The doctor then asked watching as I curled it up out of the way.

"She's a huntress in training, you have understand that she gets herself into more then a few tuffles with people who have less then pleasant ideas about her kind. How do you think she lost her leg?"

"Strange, almost all Faunas I have encountered never have the same reaction despite facing racist abuse in the most extreme way, even so she's a wolf so of course she will act differently, a growl? For such a minuscule thing?"

"She only growls at strangers" my stepmother growled the doctor motioning with his pen to my tail. I was sitting there completely distracted while I played with Whisker's paws. My stepmother wasn't hesitant as she stroked down my back unfurling my tail as my eyes flew over to her, I relaxed letting her pick through the fur of my tail flicking it away when she pulled a little too hard.
