chapter ILIV: the maidens

"Ruby!" I shouted just as the airship landed, they where back a whole three days early and I wanted to know why.

"What am I chopped liver? "My wife asked as I pushed past her to hold my daughter who was rapped up in a towel but was almost black with Grimm blood "achally if I was chopped liver you would eat me"

"Sorry" I quickly appologied leaning forwards and pressing my forehead against hers while I held Ruby closely.

"It's ok I know you where worried" she sighed reaching forwards and stroking my hair. "This one is a lunatic, she jumped into a King Taijitu's mouth, killed it from the inside"

"I can see with the ikor" I added flatly watching as the team's Schnee was placed on her feet looking rather pale and tired... The whole team looked tired, Ruby has fallen asleep in my arms at this point "Alright girls, you three follow me and I'll lead you back to your dorm where the cooks have prepared something for you to eat"

"Yay" Yang groaned leaning against my back "we didn't even get to fight that massive snake, that nevermore was very unhappy"

"Well Weiss and Ruby did" Blake added watching my wife praticaly catched the Schnee when she collapsed.

"Princess used a lot of aura" Raven said shifting the relatively skinny girl in her arms "and Ruby's leg is clogged up"

"I'll take her for a bath" a new voice then said as I spun around to see a very deshevled TaiYang standing there.

"Umm" I thought looking down at my precious pup " You can help" I agreed as he nodded, carefully walking up to his own daughter and helping her off my back "alright come along now" I smiled watching the standing portion of this team drag themselves towards their dorm room.

"Ears down pup" I instructed but the girl just sat there leaning against her uncle rubbing her eyes "Ruby?" I asked catching her attention before I carefully stroked her ears back for me to then use the shower head to wet her hair, washing the dried black goo down the drain, good thing the goo is dead.

"Careful you'll get it in your eyes" the blond man advised pulling the girl's hands away from her face making her whine as she attempted to shake off some of the water that I was still spraying onto her.

"There we go, that isn't too bad now isn't it?"I asked with a smile feeling the girl lean closer and grab onto my sleeve.

"I can see what you mean about having to be sitting down" the blond man oppisit to me, rubbing the girl's bare back "look duck!" He said showing her a rubber duck that was sitting in a little basket with her name on it.

"Duck" Ruby giggled wiggling slightly and trying to reach it before slipping on the floor of the dorm's washroom.

"Yeah this is why there is rubber mats everywhere in their bathroom" I sighed motioning to the mats that we moved, before I then covered my hands in fur wax and starting to rub it into her tail while she tried to scrabble to get grip.

"We really could have done with a wash room when we where in Beacon" Tai said looking around at this small shower area, and the girl still trying to push herself up on the slippery wet flooring.

"I don't think the twins would have approved" I said flatly.

"They washed each other in the sink for two years, I don't think they approved of the bathtub"

"The cleaners always gave us a weird look when they unclogged the drains and pulled up a load of feathers"

"They turned the whole sink into their personal bird bath I don't think it would have been much of a surprise"
