Chapter XXI: The castle that lead the beast

I looked at Blake, her limp pale body being held in Yang's arms as she tried to wake her back up Ruby was a little disgruntled by this, but my presence was certainly keeping her on a certain level of calm. But I could feel her hands gripping onto the back of my cloak "suspend her legs and give her a second if she doesn't wake up in a minute check her pulse and just pick her up" I instructed having felt with students faint before, and because of my excelled age I certainly had a better grip on situations then my much younger pup, who shouldn't be in this situation in the first place but Ozpin thinks she should.

"Eight beats per ten seconds" Yang said as I nodded

"She's fine just needed to take a nap" I said using a youthanisum for Ruby's sake "this will be a interesting day" I muttered watching the officer help Yang pick up her girlfriend.

"Azrial" I heard Ruby say reaching out for the bird but it just looked at her before flying up in the air.

"Azrial is looking around to keep you safe puppy" I said up to the girl who looked downtrodden at the bird before she nuzzled into the back of my head. It's ok only for a little bit I just did not need to have someone faint on me, thats a problem and a half on its own, with Ruby it also means I can't help only give orders otherwise Ruby will stress herself out so much she will faint aswell. But as I felt the gripping on the back of my cloak increase I sudden spun around and found something to distract her with "hey look ducks!" I said looking at the small fountain with little ducks hopping around swimming in the water.

"Ooo birdys!" Ruby giggled her tail wiggling behind her, I looked behind myself and motioned for the small group to hurry up.

"Do you know what type of ducks they are?"I asked not really expecting a answer let along the correct one considering the majority of the birds the girl has been around are Raven's and there all ravens... ironically.

So I was shocked when Ruby then said this "Weiss said that they are called mallard ducks"

"Did she now?" I said as she nodded

"She also said that you can know if they are a boy or a girl by the colour of there feathers" Ruby said before adding "the boy ones are colourful and the girls are brownish"

"Aren't you a little zoologist" I laughed as Yang then came into view Blake carried bridal style in her arms Weiss carrying the emo cat's weapon ...

The officer looked at me before he then said "I'll take you to the chief now" as I nodded carrying Ruby on my back as she looked around at all the shops we walked past, looking up every so often only to wince about the bright sky on her sensitive eyes.

"Ah! You came back!" Ruby chirped making all of us look at her watching as Azrial landed on my head

"Get off" I grumbled shaking the bird off and watching as it flew back off Ruby was less bothered this time telling me that they probably talked about something.

"The chief will be expecting us" the officer said who was looking more and more like a guard by the second.

"I don't even know who this chief is" I commented "but I have a feeling I know who- ow! Ears!" I shouted jolting Ruby who yelped at the sudden sound But the pulling on my ear didn't stop.

"I didn't touch your ears!" Ruby shouted back "Azrial did" she pouted as I then looked at the bird who was pulling on my ear. "Stop Azrail your hurting mummy!" Ruby said growling at the bird and making it let go of my ear before my daughter took hold of my ear and started to rub it better.
