chapter ILIII: a breif lesson on grimm

"Are you sure they're called antlers?"Ruby asked holding the stag's discarded crown of throns.

"Yes I'm pretty sure" I said running a hand through the girl's hair while she looked at it like it was the most amazing thing ever. "What Are you going to do with them?" I asked watching as she looked at me with confusion before then just slowly putting one of the antler's on top of her head making me laugh loudly. "Aww pup" I cooed making her blush as I picked the antler off her head.

"Why can't I make them into a hat?" She asked feeling over the "prongy things" in her own words.

"You can make them into a hat... But a hat isn't something you picked up and just put on your head" I said pulling leaf out of her hair, both Yang and Blake where out "scouting" really they are making love behind a tree somewhere, professor Rose and Mr Brawnwin are collecting fire wood/ seeing who can kick down the biggest tree. Leaving me here with Ruby, not that I minded of course, my adorable little girlfriend was a joy to be around. We did have a job, and that job was, stoke the fire and defend the camp. But Ruby already trotted out this morning and there's nothing here.

Nothing alive that is, apart from the trees and small "critters" as she put it.

"So how do you make a hat?" Ruby asked clacking the two antlers in her small hands together. We we're rather bored, Ruby exspecally but talking so far seems to be occupying her. I would be happy go play with her but we have nothing to play with and I refuse to throw sticks like she was some kind of common hound. A cuddly puppy that has the playfulness of a kitten and the cleaning stile of a rabbit kit? yes, defiantly, absolutely. A common hound? No not on my dead body, one that's straight racism, two Ruby will not give the sticks back, three... if anyone catches me I will be murdered by the most terrifying professor in all of Beacon for even considering doing that to her precious little girl. "Weiss?" The precious little girl in question's mother might already know that I'm thinking this with her weird mind powers."Weiss!" I might need to step carefully for the next two days... one thing I have learnt about the Rose family they have this weird and mysterious way of just, knowing what your thinking of. "Weiss!?" Hopefully we will be able to go hunting later today, the only food we have is dried meat and I don't feel like gnawing on that for sustenance- "WEISS?!"

"Ow!" I shouted hissing in pain as I crashed into the floor, my head hitting the edge of a log while I fell back, a weight on my chest and wolf ears in my face. "Ruby!" I growled out rubbing my head and pushing her off me "look what you did!" I scolded watching as her ears fell back and she cowered before me watching as I rubbed mud and dirt off my clothes, face, and out of my hair.

"Weiss I'm sorry!" Ruby cried bringing my attention to her as she sniffled making me aware of my blunder, I shouted at her, and it really wasn't her fault.

"Ruby wait!" I shouted watching her dash off into the bushes, I sighed almost ripping out my own hair at my mistake. What am i going to do!? Go after her?! Should I even go after her?!

"Hey Weiss what's up?" Yang then suddenly asked, walking over to me staring at the spot Ruby dissapered at, with two antlers in my hands which the girl had been playing with "you ok there princess? You look paler then normal" the blond then said looking at the two antlers "where my little sis?" She asked

I just looked at her before pointing to the bushes and a new emotion fluttered across Yang's face, during my year and a half here at beacon and subsequently with the blond, I've seen her displaying a rainbow of emotions, anger disgust envy fear anguish dispare, but never have I seen her so raged, sure I've seen her angry, many times in fact but this? This was something else.

Her eyes bled into a dark crimson and her hair flicked with a inferno, the ground beneath her started to burn as her hand shot up and grabbed onto my neck choking air out of my lungs, but I didn't fight her I just hung in her grasp "What did you do?" She demanded, her words came out as a hiss so much so I just looked at her.
