chapter VII: mothers

"What's that?"

"That's a python Yang found last night" I said while I flicked through my gallery

"What's a python?" Ruby asked while she curled up on my stomach, letting me absentmindly pet her.

"It's a type of snake that grows really long" I said playing with the pup's hair "it can gobble you up if you can fit in its mouth" I teased tickling her sides making her squeal in laughter, watching as she took hold of my scroll looking at the large snake that was curled around a petrified Yang's leg. "Ah ah ah, no~ give that back" I said holding out my hand watching as the small girl pouted but passed me my scroll back "good girl" I praised rubbing her head watching as she moved around so she could see my scroll better, but as a fluffy black and red tail layed over my face I sighed, before lightly biting it being very careful not to achally hurt her (since that's very easy with her sensitive tail) just give her a small shock.

*yelp!*

And I think it worked I laughed as Ruby spun around and growled at me, it's wasn't very angry and I responded by just "Booop" poking her nose watching as her tail wags while she lay stomach to stomach on my front, I watched as she tried to bite my hand but got caught half way through, in the end she just kinda mouthed my finger before settling for just licking it. "What on Remnant are you doing?" I asked with a smile as I felt her rasp like toung rake across my skin, it felt very rough but that was about that, if she was a cat faunas i wouldn't have skin on my finger anymore.

I just let her lick my hand while I sat up watching as she took hold of my hand keeping it in place as she then started to rub her ears against it "What are you up to?" I muttered before just stroking her hair until I felt her start to nibble on my Hand "Ok no blood for you today"i said taking my hand off her.

"Come on" Ruby whined pawing at me rolling about at my side, I smiled before tickling her stomach when she made the mistake of showing it to me, my crawling hand making her giggle and kick her limbs around before the door then started to open and it was like someone flicked a switch and she got out of my reach. "GRRRR"

I watched as she growled at the door before she then scratched at it, her short quite dull claws bearly doing anything on the metal door. She was not going to let whoever was opening the door in unless I did somthing, and that was I grabbed onto the back of the girl's childish black shirt that had little cartoon animals all over, I pulled the small girl into my lap restraining her temporarily to allow Peach to enter the room. "Visious little thing aren't you" she sighed placing down a bag, as she closed and locked the door.

"You know Peach, be nice" I muttered into Ruby's ears while I rubbed her back, she continued to growl but she didn't try and attack the professor instead she stayed close to me as I stroked her back and tail, but even after a few minutes her growling stopped as she entered bliss.

"You need to teach me how you do that" Peache said pointing at the girl, who lay calmly on my lap her tail curled around my leg slightly as I rubbed her back.

"She's dependant on contact, and since I couldn't see her for a few days and you refuse to go near her, she's a little needy" I simplified still stroking the girl.

"Ah, mabye I should be a little more caring then" Peache thought tapping her chin "usually people aren't that dependant"

"She's a denatured faunas" I pointed out watching as the professor just did a little Oh. "she's just a little puppy in the inside, and being with a big scary professor is a little unnerving" I teased

"Come on, when I was younger being in a locked room would make me feel like I was the safest in the world!" Peache shouted making Ruby let out a grunt and me to motion with my hand to keep the volume down.
