Chapter XXIX: the glitch

Spoiler warning for volume six episode one + trailer if you haven't seen it (But I doubt it)

"Bed" my stepmother said ruffling my hair, I whined pulling at her shirt as she laughed softly " come on, you could have some milk before hand?" She tempted softly stroking my ears. But I still whined, not all that happy about my stepmother wanting me to go to bed. "Come on, even I'm going to bed now" she sighed, still petting my hair softly before she leaned down and carefully rapped her arms around my body "let's get you some milk" she muttered into my ear is I nodded letting her slowly lift me up, after a few seconds she stroked my hair before she carried me off into the kitchen, passing me some milk soon after, stroking my head lovingly as I drank it "I don't want you to stay up all night waiting for your mummy" she muttered quietly into my ear as I whined nuzzling into her warm stomach, making her laugh softly.

"But I still don't wanna go to bed" I whined gripping onto her trying to convince her of otherwise.

"I know you don't want to, but you still have to" she sighed climbing the stairs slowly "how about... you sleep with me?" She asked

"Fine" I grumbled as suddenly I realised that I was in my parent's bed room, I looked up to my stepmother who smiled back down at me rubbing my shoulder softly before she layed me down carefully on her bed.

"Give me a sec to change, not every one has a girlfriend who likes to dress you up like cute animals" she chuckled motioning to the themed pyjamas I was wearing making me blush. Weiss was rather persistent on dressing me up like a dog before she went to bed herself, I couldn't complain all that much though, since the pyjamas are really comfortable. "There we go" my stepmother said walking back in dressed rather causally as she stretched slightly, walking up to me and getting under the covers dragging me up onto her stomach as she layed there stroking my back. "Comfortable?" She asked as I nodded nuzzling into her chest making her chuckle before we both fell asleep, my tail curled up around me as I clutched onto one of my stepmother's hands, holding it in my own as I chewed it slightly.

"Yay she's back!" I heard someone cheer as I then slapped my hands over my ears flattening them against my scull, as I then felt a foren body crash into me. Almost instantly I snapped my eyes open seeing the ginger mop of Nora as she nuzzled into me like a needy kitten.

I just yawned rubbing my eyes as my body ached for some odd reason before I giggled hugging Nora back "that was really bad timing" Weiss sighed as she picked up a bag.

"Aww don't be mean icy, she can't control it" Nora defended as I smiled nuzzling into her warm chest making her giggle at this action. "See you made her upset!" She playfully scolded rubbing my ears as I wagged my... tail?

"She seems happy enough to me" Weiss scoffed watching my tail flail about, that is until the girl I was snuggled up against noticed.

"Oh my gosh!" Nora squeaked hugging me closer as I felt something touch my tail, almost instantly I broke out of Nora's grip and snapped at a very surprised Blake, who watched as I growled at her not happy what so ever about someone touching my tail.

Though my growling was curbed when Nora started to softly stroke my ears, I grumbled flaring at Blake beforr I settled on the ginger's shoulder making her smile as she pet me. "You kids get her up" Qrow gruffed as I was pushed back until Nora bent down snaking her arm underneath my own shoulders and helping me to my feet, signalling for Ten and Yang to collect up what I presume is our bags, well not mine but the other Ruby's, who is me.... so I'm just going to stop.

Some time after I was sat down in a carriage of a train that was speeding along a rail line, with Nora petting my ears, I whined moving close thumbling a bit before I gripped onto her. "Is... She ok?" Yang asked moving close to me as I flicked my ear.
