Chapter LX: the ink runs right off the page

"The Vital festival!" Weiss cheered in a very unWeiss-like way, practically bounding about while pulling Ruby around. The small wolf faunus practically jogged with the heiress, her hand clasped in her girlfriend's fingers while her other hand clasped the plastic handle on a bucket of sugar cotton, bought from one of the multiple stalls that surrounded the white rose pair. "Aren't you excited? There isnt a better example of kingdom peace in remnant" Weiss asked standing in the pop up market full of bustling tourist who had flew in from Vacuo, Mistrial, Atlas, all to watch young huntresses and huntsmen fight in the impressive floating arena that was currently docked with an equally impressive floating Beacon academy.

"It's too crowded" Ruby whined, her ears flipping back a little as Weiss' mood dampened slightly, but Ruby noticed the change and prowled around her snowy angle, nuzzling under the heiress' arm. "but let's get lunch" the little wolf declared watching as her girlfriend's excitement returned and Ruby went back to being dragged around the market.

"Yang said this place was good" Weiss then declared coming to a stop as Ruby peeled the lid off her bucket and munched on the pink floss inside.

"Alright" she agreed, nuzzling against her girlfriend's arm before offering the snowy woman a tuft of the cotton, which was accepted.

After a few short minutes of waiting both of the two huntresses in training where sitting on stools next to each other, Ruby's bucket of sugar cotton left unattended on the counter, the lid sealed back on, as the two slerped up beige noodles.

"Are you getting cold? If you are we can go back to the school and I can introduce you to some of our friends from Vacuo" Weiss then said to Ruby who was fiddling with the reddish black scarf that her mother had doatingly swaddled around the pup's neck. The thick sleeves of her winter jacket falling over her clawed fingers making the task of adjusting the scarf a whole lot harder.

"Itchy" Ruby mumbled as Weiss leaned over pulling the garment away from the girl's neck, picking out a small piece of plastic.

"Probably because of this" the Schnee said rubbing the base of her girlfriend's ears "so, how are you doing heat wise?"

"I'm ok" Ruby responded, her tail wagging at Weiss' rubbing.

"Good, now what do you want to do next?"

"Umm, go explore some more?" Ruby asked, pushing away her empty bowl and then slipping into her bucket to eat more floss.

"Sure if you would like, maybe we will run into Sun"

"Sun?" Ruby asked, her head titling to the side.

"Oh Sun is the leader of team SSSN, he's coming to vale for the festival" Weiss then filled In, petting the feather of Ruby's downy hair "he's more of a friend of Blake, but in sure you would like him, Sun's a faunus aswell as you"

"Oh cool!" Ruby then chirped, her cloak flapping in the wind as she beamed up to her girlfriend.

"So should we go meet with him? Welcome him to beacon?" Weiss asked, her fingers gliding though the little wolf's soft hair.

"Yeah" Ruby said he tail wagging as she vaguely remembered the name of team SSSN, probably not from Weiss or Blake mentioning them, but perhaps Yang said something about them.

"Hey Ruby!" Neptune then greeted as Ruby groaned remembering that team name. "How's it going little pup?" He said crouching down in front of the little wolf and patting her head, pulling her away slightly from Weiss.

"Alright" the girl mumbled as a blonde boy with a monkey tail jogged over, his shirt flapping in the cold winter wind.

"Hey ice queen!" The cheery blonde greeted.
