Chapter XXVII: date night

"Weiss Schnee announces to the public that she is a fighter for faunas Rights, her younger and faunas girlfriend Ruby Rose, daughter of respected huntresses Summer and Raven Rose is believed to be the reason for this. While Weiss Schnee herself is by far the most successful Schnee for the fights of equal rights, her partner is a prodigy of her own a wolf faunas excepted into Beacon academy four years early. "Done" Weiss groaned hitting enter and sending off the email she's been writing on my laptop.

"Have you finished writing about that big meanie?" I asked kicking my legs as the White haired girl flicked the screen onto some cartoon film.

I watched as she stretched before answering "Yes my lawers can take it from there now" she announced before laying down on the floor next to me, stroking my hair as I rolled onto my side against Weiss who smiled rapping one of her arms around me "how are you doing today my puppy?" She asked as I blushed slightly.

"I'm fine, mummy played with me all day" I chirped as Weiss took hold of my hand looking at it more importantly the healing cut on my wrist, it didn't hurt anymore, and it was almost gone only leaving a faint white line to where it was and what I did to stop him from continuing.

"It's getting better" Weiss said stroking over it with her thumb with a smile, I beemed back up at her before the cat slinked round the door. I smiled giggling as it nuzzled against me my tail wiggling behind me. "Do you want to go into Vale?" She asked as I petted my sister's cat before I nodded letting her stroke my hair.

"But we gotta as mummy first" I then added as she nodded, not that asking my parents was a hard thing for Weiss to do, the Schnee has always been in their favour. And they where more likely to say yes to her then Blake. I got up and let her open my bedroom door for me, we walked down the long carpet and down the grand stairs until we found my parents on the sofa in each other's arms. My mother was fast asleep in my stepmother's arms, her ears flicking as we entered the room, her long flowing cape spilling onto the floor.

"What's up?" My stepmother asked her mass of black feathery hair forming a lion's main behind her. She looked at me with her soft red eyes, they reminded me so much of Salem but I can't stare it's rude, I can't stare because she will close them, and then I will be afride because i can't see them. Weiss was the one to ask for permission standing forwards for me and asking for me, I just stood there and watched, every twitch of a muscle her lips moving to pronounce her words, they where curt strange different with her northern accent which molds her words into a very precise sentence. Bordering on robotic to exotic.

It was better to let her ask then try to do it for myself, my parents wouldn't think much of it but I just wanted to hear Weiss' beautiful voice. She smiled at me after confirmation was given, and I smiled back looking at her pale completion, her ocean blue eyes looking into my own shimmering silver, her soft hair slipping over her back as she extended her hand to me, I smiled taking it in my own rapping my fingers around three of hers.

My hands where just so small dwarfed in size by Weiss' much bigger ones, if she did fully hold onto my hands she would be holding onto my wrist not just my hand, my parents said when I was younger that I would never get any bigger, that I would stay like this possibly forever, I was sad but I didn't really understand. I remember when I was taller then Yang, my older sister, but right now that seems impossible.

And it is.

"Ruby? Are you ok?" Weiss asked as I looked up at her from where I sat on the airship to the centre of Vale.

"Yup just thinking" I smiled as she rubbed my hair.

"You goof" she laughed softly before draping her arm over my shoulder protectively, I smiled being in her warm embrace letting myself fall onto her side "don't fall asleep on me now, we'll be there in a few minutes" she said taking out her scroll and messaging some upper middle class restraint with a weird name like "ropa interior" or something like that which sounds like it's insides are decorated by rope.
