Chapter LV: development

"No no no no no no!"I shouted refusing to leave the long car, Azrial swooped over and preened my hair as the weird man from last night that my stepmother gave me to tried to push me out from the car.

"Come on, you weren't like this yesterday" he growled pushing me harder as I then got flung out of the car. "This... could be fun! Like a game! How does that sound?" He asked as I whined from the floor, feeling him put me back on my feet.

"Crummy" I grumbled my tail curling around my leg as Azrial hopped on my shoulder, all attempts to cheer me up didn't work.

"Come along now, that's enough complaining" he said grabbing onto my hood and taking me inside the massive house everyone seems to have in this place. "Now, we shall find obskur" he said as I growled, pulling out of his grip and then sitting down on the floor, refusing to move an inch.

He sighed walking off while I sat here, that is before I heard a small squeak, Azrial flew off just as he came back, holding a brightly coloured Ball. "I know you want it" he teased as my tail started to wag watching as he moved that captivating ball around "fetch!" He shouted throwing it along the hall as I quickly skittered after the squeaking sphere, my claws clattering across the marble as I skidded to a stop just before I slid into the wall, ball in my mouth.

"freundlich, what on remnant are you doing?" A female voice said coming out of a door that I didn't see open, nor do I care.

"Well, I got a new friend, and we talked last night, and she let us borrow her-"

"Puppy!" She suddenly squealed as I was pulled off the floor and into a rib snapping hug. I squeaked trying to wiggle out of the woman's arms but it seemed impossible.

"- Faunas" he sighed coming over to my aid "She's only staying for three days and then she needs to go back to her mother" He added pulling me away from her as I shook off the weird crushed feeling as I could finally be able to breath.

"But she's so cute! Can't we just keep her?" She asked as I batted her hand away from my ears.

"No we can not, she needs her mother" freundlich informed as I nudged his side with the ball "fetch" he said again, throwing the ball back down the hall as I raced after it. "She's on loan, and besides I think my friend would be gutted if she stays any longer then a few days"

"What's her name? How old is she?"

"She's called Ruby and she- Fetch- sixteen"

"She looks so young" she said gasping as I crashed into the wall, shaking it off as I ran back over to them my tail wagging as freundlich took the ball and threw it again, this time not even bothering to say fetch. But there's no point in going back to him if he's just going to keep throwing it, so I just layed down and started to play with it on my own. "Is she ok?"

"I know she's a huntress in training, I assume she has an Aura" freundlich said as the woman came over, cupping my face and looking it over before I shook myself off her. "Apparently she's very well trained, and I think thats just by wolf standards"

"Does she know any tricks?" She asked as I looked at her with disdain, flicking my tail a little before she looked at me with curiosity, her hand reached up and I moved back from it, that is until me caught right behind my ear and started scratching. "Aww aren't you just a big cutie" she cooed as I rolled over, a blissful look on my face as my leg twitched rapidly.

"obskur, maybe you should let her go for a bit so we can show her around?" freundlich suggested as I was let go, I leapt to my feet before dashing off, they where nice... But they aren't what I want to stay all day with, or at all , what was my stepmother thinking!?
