Warnings: Violence, nameless people death, selling of people, swearing.
Logan and Patton were cornered by two of Deceit's men. Logan quickly began accessing the situation at the hand. There was no possible way for the two of them escape unless Prince Roman came and distracted them which was pretty unlikely considering he was on the other side of the dock. He sighed in frustration.
Logan looked at the man beside him. He looked petrified. Logan had recently discovered that Patton was merman and had seriously considered selling him off on the black market. No one had ever found a merman before and if he sold Patton he wouldn't have to work another day in his life. "I don't like the way you're looking at me..." Patton's words rung in his ears.
Patton had convinced Logan to let him go to his freedom. He had also guilt tripped Logan into promising keep him safe. Logan didn't know why he felt guilty about even thinking of that as a course of action. He wished he wasn't so easily swayed from this option because if he had chosen it his life wouldn't currently be in danger.
He shook off those thoughts. Logan turned back toward the two intimidating men approaching them slowly. Logan suddenly noticed a unrecognizable dark figure in a slightly torn up hoodie. He felt a little tinge of hope that this stranger would come to him and Patton's aid. Luckily for him, this assumption was correct but unlucky for Patton, things were about to get violent.
The foreboding silhouette walked behind the two men and pulled out a pure purple sword from it's holster. Without any hesitation, he stabbed one of the pirates though the chest. He gasped in pain and fell to his knees. Soon enough, his eyes became lifeless. The other man rushed to attack the mysterious man who didn't even flinch before dodging his opponents blade.
He slipped the cruel pirate up with his sword. The pirate was immediately impaled. The man began to make his way to pair, stepping on the first chest on his way with no remorse. Logan felt Patton link their arms, he looked down at the terrified merman and he felt something tug at his heart, perhaps sadness? He wasn't entirely sure.
"Hey," He reached for Patton's chin so he could look at him. Patton seemed close to tears. "I'm sure he doesn't mean us any harm..." Logan wasn't sure at all. He had no idea what the cloaked man's intentions were. Patton nodded, a small smile gracing his lips. He seemed more calm and reassured then he had been previously.
The stranger reached for hood, taking off to reveal a pale emotionless face with black charcoal smudged under his eyes which were slightly covered by the man's fringe. He looked eerily familiar. Logan noticed the purple flower crown placed carefully on his head, it looked to be only a few days old. "You killed them..." Logan started, mentally facepalming. Obviously...
"Well, first of all, no shit, Sherlock." Logan recognized his voice and cursed himself for not realizing sooner. Virgil black, Deceit's trusted first mate. He had attacked Logan a few days ago and Patton had saved him by warming the villain's heart.
Logan had been unconscious at the time and Patton had given the dark man a flower crown as a peace offering. Virgil then agreed to leave them alone. He had even called Patton dad. It seemed far fetched when Patton told him when he woke up and still did despite it now being proved true.
"And second, no messes with my dad and gets away with it." Logan heard Patton squeal and let go of Logan's arm. "My soooooonnnn!!!" Logan hugged his arm where Patton's warmth had previously been, he felt cold. Patton ran toward the presumably reformed antagonist and pulled into a tight embrace which Virgil returned whole heartedly.
Logan felt a smile tug at his lips.
