He couldn't believe it.

He had broken into his recently acquired ex backyard and was about to climb though his window, essentially breaking in.

Patton needed to talk Logan though and it couldn't wait till Monday. On Friday, Patton said he loved Logan on accident and Logan freaks out. The entire thing ended with them breaking up. Even thinking about it made Patton feel stupid. He pushed the window fully open, getting Logan's attention. He climbed in, his head to the floor.

"Patton, what are you doing here?" Logan stopped doing his homework.
Patton's eyes filled with sadness, his shoulders dipped. "Look, Logan. Now that we're over, there's some stuff I want back like my cat hood." He walked over to the rack on Logan's door, taking off the cat hood of it. He put it on around his shoulders as usual. Patton had serious emotional attachment to it plus it was an excuse to talk to Logan.

Logan impatiently stood up and pointed to the window, practically desperate for him to leave. "Fine, take it. Now go!" He didn't want to think about what happened, he just wanted it to go away. But Patton had different intentions. He shook his head. "No. There's one more thing." Logan narrowed his eyes. He had practically nothing in his room. If you couldn't see it, then you probably lost it at school.

"I don't have anything else of yours." Logan knew Patton was aware of this fact so he was extraordinarily confused. Patton sighed, shaking his head. Knowing Logan took things too literally, Patton spelled it out for him. "Yeah you do. You have all my feelings about you and I have none of yours. So everything I've ever thought of you, I want back." He pointed to his heart as he spoke, feeling it slowly breaking.

Logan looked as if he wanted to say something but Patton kept talking. "I mean, I thought could be open with you and tell you how I feel. I said I love you, so what? It's the truth. And you just blew me off without any explanation or telling me how you feel. I thought I knew you Logan but I was wrong." Patton turned around and walked back to the window, ready to go back to window.

The only thing happening in his head was repeated 'Don't cry, don't cry.'
Before he could leave though, Logan said something quietly under his breath. "I was scared." Did he hear what he think he heard? No, he couldn't have, could he? Patton turned back around, confusion obvious on his face. "What?" Logan took a deep breath.

Expressing emotions was not necessary something he was very skilled at. Logan fidgeted with his hands unconsciously. "You wanted to know how I feel, I was scared." That didn't Patton feel much better. He pointed to himself. "Of me?" Logan shook his head. That definitely wasn't what Logan meant. He sighed. "No. Of what you said. We're only fourteen."

Logan gestured to the school uniform they both wore that was nearly folded on Logan's desk. Logan honestly wasn't ready for romance because so young. Honestly, he didn't think he'd ever be ready. He sat back down on his bed. "These feelings... when did you know?" Patton showed a small smile as he strolled across the room and sat next to Logan. He looked to the ground before looking up with a hopeful expression.

"Promise you won't laugh?" Logan nodded since laughing just wasn't a thing he did. Patton leaned back, closing his eyes. As he recounted the memory, a fond found it's way onto his face. "Do remember that time when were in my backyard, chasing butterflies and you had like twenty in your jar and I had one with a broken wing and then Roman came out started teasing us-"

Surprisingly, Logan cut him off, though perhaps it wasnt that surprising since he already knew what happened in this story. "He said 'Patton loves Logan' and you said 'Gross! I hate him!'." Logan made his voice high pitch when he imitated the past which made Patton's smile only grow. It gave him a much needed confidence boost to see Logan smile.

Instead of looking straight ahead of him like he was previously, Patton changed his position so he was fully facing him. "That's when I knew." Logan's eyes widened at that. He couldn't be serious. He crossed his arms, obviously not believing what he's selling."We were six." He stated bluntly. Patton shrugged it off, his goofy grin still present. "Who cares? Does that matter?"

But it didn't make Logan smile right back at him as it usually did.

"How could you know then? I'm not even sure what I love you means now." Patton could feel some tears in his eyes but he willed them to go away. He couldn't handle these types of confrontations or really any but he still held himself together. Patton sighed. "Look. All I know is you and I belong together, I mean I've always been able to talk to you, to make you smile. And I've always wanted make sure you're ok."

Logan looked away, pulling his legs up to his chest anxiously. He looked like he was thinking about something. Patton sighed and stood up, his smile long gone at this point. "Fine. Logan, I've been completely honest with you. I've got my hood so I'll leave you alone." Patton began walking back to the window. He didn't want to cry in front of Logan. That would be so embarrassing.

Logan stopped him. "So that's what I love you means?" Patton looked over his shoulder. He turned fully around and nodded. "Yeah... later." He turned back to the window and was just about to get up on the window sill.
Logan thought for a moment before speaking. "Patton." Patton hummed in response, he turned around again.
Logan hesitated for moment before taking deep breath.

He smiled. "I love you too." His voice was breathy and quiet as if only Patton could hear those words. Patton smiled, perhaps his brightest and most genuine one he ever had at Logan's words. "I was hoping you did." He decided to save his fanboying until he was back at his house.
