When Roman learned that he had a few weeks off of his policemen duties, he knew exactly what he was going to do during that time. After phone call to him, Roman had booked a flight to Florida to visit his long distance boyfriend, Virgil. It had a year since they had seen eachother irl for the first time and only time and they had both been wanting to see eachother again ever since then and this was the perfect opportunity.

The difference between that time and this time however was that Virgil was staying with his dad and Roman was going to met him. He anxiously sat in his plane seat, the call he was on with Virgil slightly comforting his rational fears. "I can't believe I'm actually meeting your father in a few hours, I can't say I'm not a least bit nervous." He fidgeted with the useless pop socket on the back of his phone anxiously.

Virgil's voice echoed though the phone, making Roman smile. "Dont get excited, babe. You still have ages." While this was mostly meant to calm down Roman, it was also to relax himself. His heart was practically beating out of his chest as his impending anxiousness grew more dominant in his mind. His father's approval meant the world to him.

If he didn't like Roman, it would undoubtedly absolutely shatter Virgil completely. He honestly couldn't be certain he'd ever be able to look either of them in the eye if it didn't go well and Virgil's father regretted them. Even still, he smirked when an evil little idea got into his head. "Although... you should probably be a little afraid, my Dad is very protective... and he has a shotgun."

He knew it was a bit cruel to mess with his boyfriend like that, he couldn't help himself regardless. Besides his dad didn't have a shotgun... to Virgil's supposed knowledge. His boyfriend's cell line suddenly went completely silent. Virgil stifled a laugh at how he was taking it so seriously. "...what?" He whispered softly, as if he spoke any louder, he'd pass out in a panic.

Before Virgil could respond, a ding went off on the plane. A voice rang over the loud speaker, reaching all the way to the back where Roman was so much so that Virgil could hear it. "Could all passengers please turn off all devices as the flight crew is preparing? That's all phones off as of now, thank you."

Virgil smirked at the news. He recognized that opportunity to leave Roman in suspense. "Welp, that's my cue to go. Stay safe princey~" He spoke sweetly, though his evil intent sweeped though his voice. Roman's eyes widened, not wanting to left with that for eight hours. He quickly leaned foward in his chair during panic, voice breaking as he spoke. "Wait, you can't just hang up after th-"

Before Roman could object, Virgil had already hung up the phone, being signaled by the loud beep. He still checked, pulling it away from his ear and sighing when he saw it had hung up. He leaned back into the airplane seat, feeling his soul slowly leave his body. He buried his face into his hands and the only words that he spoke were muffled by his hands. "Oh, crap."

Roman anxiously adjusted his leather jacket, shifting his feet as he cautiously tried to stir the courage to knock on the door. It wasn't the house that Roman had stayed in on his last visit with Virgil, this was his Dad's place. It was completely unfamiliar and Roman couldn't bring himself to knock. He was too frightened to mess up, especially with what Virgil said about owning a gun.

He let out a deep breath before finally being able to bring himself to knock. A few seconds past before Virgil opened the door, hair slicked back neatly with gel but otherwise he looked the same as that morning. "Hey princey, took you long enough." He leaned against the door frame, his usual cocky smirk on his face that eased Roman's nerves a bit but not by a lot.

Desperately needing to get some sweet, sweet confidence, Roman rolled his shoulders around, attempting to relax them and himself as a whole. Needless to say, it wasn't working. "Sorry, I'm just... tense. Where's your dad?" Roman asked him to distract himself from his growing anxiousness, glancing behind Virgil to see if he could spot his father for himself.

Virgil, noticing his gaze over his shoulder, laughed at him, bringing Roman's eyes back to his boyfriend. Virgil smiled knowingly, practically sensing his nervousness from a mile away. "He's in dinning room, come on. You have to meet him sooner or later." He egged him on. The last thing he wanted was Roman to back down now. He turned around and took a few steps before he stopped.

He had excepted Roman to follow close behind him but when he only heard his own footsteps, he turned around to see Roman still standing unsure of himself by the door. Virgil deflated, walking back to the door. Roman still didn't look him in the eye so he gently took hold of his face with his hand, causing Roman's eyes to dart to his. "Roman?" He asked softly, gently turning Roman to face him.

Roman sighed, closing his eyes. He knew he'd have to explain himself especially with the look Virgil was giving him. "Virgil... what if I... mess it up? I don't want to lose you because I don't make a good first impression." Roman expressed his insecurities causing Virgil sigh, stroking the side of Roman's face. Virgil felt a little bad for messing with him, seeing how harshly he had taken it.

Virgil attempted to cheer him up to the best of his ability. "Look, Roman. Behind your ego, you're a kind, selfless and charming guy. My dad will love you, just... be yourself." Virgil tried to smile supportively and Roman shyly returned it, nodding. He was thankful to have such an awesome boyfriend. He could do this, for Virgil. Virgil took hold of his hands and gestured behind with his head.
"Let's go, you can't hide from forever." Roman sighed but nodded. Virgil, with a sad smile, gave him a peck on the cheek before leading him inside to the dinning room. Roman couldn't of possibly intentionally made his entrance at a more perfect time. He entered the dining room to see Virgil's dad sitting down at the table, skillfully craving into the big which caused blood to spill onto his tie.

He glanced up from his task, seeing Roman and instantly looking him up and down skeptically. Roman immediately tensed under his gaze, gulping anxiously, he looked utterly terrified. Logan met his eyes, face completely expressionless which Roman tried to emulate. You couldn't tell what was going on inside his head. He finally spoke, voice flat in a vaguely threatening way.

"You're very short for a police officer."

Roman's eyes widened in surprise at the surprisingly tame comment, excepting to be torn a new one by Virgil's Dad's first impressions of his appearance. It was true, he was very short, only 5"4. He wasn't as insecure about it now that he was an adult so it didn't really bother him, especially since it wasn't the first time he had heard similar comments. He forced a laugh. "Yeah, I get that a lot."

He rubbed the back of his neck subconsciously. His dad still stared at him, emotionless and cold gaze unfaultering. Roman, unsure of what to do, just stared right back. Virgil stifled a laugh at the awkwardness between them.

Oh, this is going to be funny as hell.
