For the smartest man in the adventuring trio, Logan sure was stupid.
Let's review; While the gang was in a merchant shop, Logan had found a series of ancient texts detailing the existence of mythological beings such as demons coinciding with humans. He learnt of lore about them from the texts so you'd think that he knew how strong these creatures were right? You'd think he'd have the sense to tell the other two and they could all go together right?
Wrong.
It was midnight and under the darkness of the night sky, Logan wandered through the deep wood that lay on the outskirts of the village. He had been exploring for quite sometime and he was now completely soaked in the rain. Being soaked meant the moving was harder and he was beginning to be frustrated, just wanting to go back to the inn and read his book till he fell asleep.
Another horrible thing about his movement is that he was making a lot more noise he would have preferred which garnered the attention of the dark male like creature hiding in the shadows. Virgil watched from a distance in the safe place, eyes simply following Logan around as he searched though the wood. He didn't know weather to be confused or threatened.
People never went into the deep woods unless they needed to and if they did, they were quick so Virgil had never seen a human before. He tensed as he was tapped on the shoulder, immediately knowing who it was as a shiver went up his spine. His 'mother', in human terms. "Don't be a wuss. Kill him." She whispered in his ear, him shivering again at her cold tone and harsh words.
Virgil had never killed anyone ever which was strange for a fear demon. Fear demons loved torture and generally making mortals suffer so she was antsy for him to start his kill count. He hesitantly nodded, drawing the dagger from his scabbard to prove to her he would. He quickly rushed away from her and towards Logan who quickly turned around at the sound of padding feet and dodged the attack.
This goes on for while until Virgil managed to knock him to the ground, ready to stab though the heart. The man fliched back, fear evident in his normally calm eyes. Virgil hesitated for a moment and stood up, offering a hand. Logan took it cautiously before being pulled to his feet. Virgil inspected the human's face, not seeing any markings of any kind. He sighed, letting his eyes settle back into the magnificent black.
"Run."
Out of all the ghastly creatures that were described in the ancient texts, Logan was lucky enough to met a merciful one who had spared his life. Why would an immortal being such as a the demon in front of him find worth in a single human life or at least enough to let it live? Though it was not his area of expertise, he was quite curious of the psychology of the threatening creature and why it would even consider letting Logan run free.
Putting his curiosity aside for a moment, he respected the demon's wishes in fear of his life being taken and stood ran off out the mysterious woods. Man, this was going to sound so far fetched to Patton and Roman.
