Warning: Homophoia? ...assumed homophobia. Idk

Roman thought his roommate was alright at first, a bit distant and cold at first but he came around eventually.
But that was before he brought his then boyfriend, Mike, to met him.
The hateful glares that he directed towards Roman's boyfriend, the looks of disgust he wore when Roman kissed him and the way he stormed out of the room after only a few minutes of the movie they were watching.
It was obvious.
Virgil was homophobic.
He believed that someone was allowed to love who they wished because they were of the same gender. That pained Roman's chest to think of. Before then, he had a few lingering feelings but now he knew his hateful beliefs, they vanished.
Or at least he thought that was why Virgil stared so angrily at his boyfriend.
In truth, that wasn't the case.
Far from it.
Virgil was not homophobic.
How could he dislike Roman for being gay when he was the same?
He knew why he was glaring at Roman's then boyfriend so violently. It was his own fault anyway. He should of made a move when he could of. Now Roman avoided talking to him like it would give him the plague if he did. The distaste that Virgil hadn't bothered to hide towards his boyfriend must of made him bitter.
They remained distant from eachother, not addressing the tense atmosphere that the once relaxed apartment now held. Both of them refused to clear the air, creating immense amounts of bad blood between them.
That is what caused Roman to put up twice as many decorations than he usually did.
He wanted to give a little pay back to his homophobic roommate.
What he wasn't expecting though was the normally darkly dressed man to leave his room, completely covered in rainbow merch much like Roman himself.
He nearly spat out his coffee at the sight of his presumed homophobic roommate in gay gear.
Virgil rolled his eyes at his oblivious roommate. "What?"
"I-I- you- you're weari-"
"It is pride month. I'm celebrating."
"But I thought you were a homophobe!"
"No? I'm gay too just like you, dumbass!"
"Then why were you glaring at Mike when he came over?"
"Because I liked..." Virgil trailed off, his face softening. His eyes flickered around, unsure of himself. He didn't want to voice his feelings because he felt if he did, whatever their relationship had become would be over.
Roman eyed him in confusion. He didn't realize what Virgil was about to say. As the dots slowly connected in his mind, he felt himself flush. "You... liked me?" Roman asked softly. Virgil paused before he sighed. What was the point in trying to hid anymore since Roman had already figured it out. He nodded hesitantly.
At that very moment, all the romantic feelings Roman had suppressed for the man were rushed back, engulfing his cheeks in a thick red warmth. He looked into Virgil's hazel eyes that swirled like galaxies. Both men stared at eachother, unsure of what to do. Roman suddenly smiled and Virgil shakily returned it.
He interlocked their hands, much to Virgil's surprise. He gently guided Virgil's hand to his lips, kissing it softly. Roman met his gaze again as he spoke, love swirling in his eyes. "I like you too." Virgil audibly gasped in shock, heat rushing to his cheeks, coating them bright red.
