The newly graduated highschool students were in the airport. You're probably wondering why they were at the airport, Patton was going off to a baking college in England. He most likely wasn't going to be able to return for a few semesters so the others would have to wait 3 years before they could see him in person again. His three friends had come to see him off.
They were standing by escalator that led to the plane shed and were saying their farewells. Patton started with Roman who was visibly trying to stay calm "Never stop hoping, Roman. You're going to do great things and achieve everything you're ever dreamt for. I believe in you." Roman pulled Patton into a tight embrace which Patton quickly returned without hesitation.
They let go after a while, Roman with a sad smile on his face. Patton walked over to Virgil who looked as if he was about to cry. "Virgil. You're the reason I believe I could actually be father someday. Don't ever forget how much we care about you." Virgil ran completely up to Patton and engulfed him in a warm embrace. He cried into Patton's shoulder who cradled his head.
Virgil stood back after a while, whipping his tears away and latching onto Roman's arm for support. "And Logan. You're incredibly intelligent and I lov- care about you so much." Patton finally spoke to his bestfriend, or 8 year crush. "Please take care of yourself and don't drown yourself in work. Make sure to have a little fun before you become president, ok?" Logan nodded, forcing a smile.
"FINAL CALL FOR FLIGHT TO ENGLAND, GATE 8!" The speaker's voice echoed though the room. Patton sighed, turning back to all his friends. "I guess this is goodbye, I'll see you guys in a few years." Virgil held his boyfriend's arm tighter. "W-we'll still video chat, right?" Patton smiled at the shorter boy. "Of course, kiddo..." He then turned to Roman. "Take care of him for me, ok?"
Roman nodded, unable to speak. They all said goodbye a final time and Patton stepped onto the escalator, a upset but content smile expressed on his face. That's until he remembered something he forgot to do. The three eighteen year olds were about leave when Patton called up to one of them. "Logan, wait!" Logan turned around in surprise, taking a step back toward the escalator.
Patton ran back up the escalator, clearly excited about something. "What is i-" Logan was cut off by Patton kissing his lips softly and briefly. A spark shot down the both the boy's spines. The kiss didn't last forever, Patton began to descend down the escalator again. "Thanks for everything, Logan! I love you!" Logan felt his cheeks heat up.
When Patton disappeared to board the plane, Logan brushed his fingers against his lips. He honestly didn't know what he was expecting but it most certainly was not that. He bit his lip as he turned to the other two who were smirking. "D-does he..." Roman smiled at the nerdling. "He's loved you for ages, Mr. Smart One." Logan looked down at the ground, extremely flustered.
He decided that, when Patton came back, he would be the one to initiate the kiss and say I love you. Meanwhile, Patton was a blushing mess, his head was in his hands. He was squealing so highly, you could barely hear it. That was so worth the eight year wait.
