Chapter 5: Wife's Benefits ~
The next morning was normal as always. Allison was eating her breakfast, Micah was reading his newspaper while drinking his coffee. Ako naman ay naghahanda ng mga babaunin nila sa pagpasok. When I was putting the foods in Allison's lunch box, may napuna na naman si Micah. Lagi na lang.
"Proposal ring?", sambit niya habang patuloy sa pagbabasa.
Napatigil ako sandali sa ginagawa ko at napatingin ng bahagya sa singsing na suot ko.
"Uh, yes", sagot ko.
"Kahit magpakasal pa kayo, it will never be legal".
"It will be, kapag pinirmahan mo na ang annulment paper", I said icily.
"Then work hard to convince me".
I tried to teased him, but I guess I was the one who was being fooled.
"Mommy, what does Daddy have said? Convinced him in what?", Allison asked confusedly.
"Uh, sweetheart, it's nothing. It's about business only", sagot ko.
"Oh okay", she said, playing her fork. "~Anyway, this Friday we're going to have a family day program in school. I want Mommy and Daddy to be there".
"Is it a must?", tanong ni Micah.
"Yes", Allison answered directly.
"Friday? Hmm.. okay, Mommy will come", I grinned.
"Really? It's a promise, okay?"
"Promise".
And we made a pinky swear. She turned her face towards Micah.
"How about you, Daddy? Are you going to come? ~ Oh you have to".
"Daddy can't promise, but I will try".
"Oh you have to save that day for me. Cancel all your schedules on that day. It has to be Allison's family day", she pouted.
"Okay, let me see".

"Hindi mo pa rin ba siya nakukumbinsi?", tanong ni Dale habang naglulunch kami sa favorite restaurant namin.
"He said I have to work hard to convince him", I answered vaguely.
He looked at me for a moment and then turned his head back to his plate.
"Then if you can't convince him, let it be. Hayaan mo na siya at sumama ka na lang sa akin. It's okay to me if we can't get married legally".
"You mean?"
"Live in partner", he said with a foolish smile on his lips.
