Happiness is a choice; no one can make you be happy or miserable. Your happiness and misery depend on your attitude. I know it can be hard to stay positive when you face a trial, but if you do, you can still be happy through your pains and afflictions.
Happiness doesn't depend on our circumstances, it depends on our attitude. The pioneers had to leave their homes and walk across the U.S. into unknown territory, losing family members along the way. Yet, they still found joy in their day to day lives.
We should do the same. Our trials may be different, but that doesn't mean they're any less difficult. But if we stay positive and find joy in the smallest of things, we will be happy.
