i'm sitting on the couch,surrounded by family and friends.my mother is hugging my daughter...the girls are smiling,looking at them...Cari is talking with Nina and i'm looking at the scene like i'm a spectator of a movie.today the sun is strong and the living room is full of light and happiness.my father sits next to me  "June is beautiful.i'm so proud of both of you"   i smile  "thank you dad..it's unreal..i have my own family"  "you deserved this."  he looks at my daughter and then continues  "i remember the day you were born..i thought you were the most special treasure in the world"  his eyes are shining and i can see tears threatening to fall down..i just place my head in his chest.he kisses my head  "i love you Shannon.maybe i should have been more involved in your life"    i lift my head to look in his eyes  "no.you gave me what i needed.trust me". then i look at June again...i know what he's talking about...my daughter is half of my heart...Cari smiles at me,she's the other half.

everybody's on the terrace,drinking and waiting for us to get ready for dinner.i'm watching as my mother and my mother-in-law are taking care of June,in her room  "did she fall asleep?"  i ask them  "yes...Noreen changed the diaper and i got her to sleep"    i kiss their cheeks  "thank you.we'll be ready...in forty minutes,i guess"   Noreen smiles  "oh honey,that's improbable,you know how my daughter is"   i smile too  "you're right.but i'll try to rush her".
